Re: Perelman and Yau hi sofia! i have not really met a chinese mathematician and i haven't read the article yet completely, but in beijing i stayed with jon, a british physicist who is doing a post-doc work there on string theory. maybe he can give a comment if he reads this. do you jon?

Perelman and Yau Hallo Florian, did you speak with any mathematician out there? Any chinese point of view of the Perelman / Yau / Tian work ?

Ups Hoppala! there are still two more entries I haven't read yet... But right now I'm not able to read anymore since my head will fall down in a minute or two... Sleep well!
tired Hi Flo! I am so tired... yesterday I wrote my last written exam :) and today I read your last three entries since I did not find the time before. It sounds great but also sometimes exhausting. Right now I would need something to lie on for about a month to rest... ;) Hug! Linda
Good times Hi there,
Sounds like some lovely experiences but I know just what you mean about the tourist sites in Xi'an. I'm currently listening to the Nick Cave and really enjoying it. Many thanks for that.
Hope you enjoy Chengdu and chat with you some time soon.
All the best,
Jon
Danke fürs Hizufügen meiner mailadresse in die Verteilerliste. Bin noch am Durchgraben all deiner Einträge, aber was ich bis jetzt so gesehen habe, wirklich spannend. Schön dass es diese Seite gibt.
Hallo aus Nanjing Since my english is better than my german, here my comments in english. Are just back from Thailand, and were wondering how you are doing in the North. Good that you have kept your good humour! Herbert is flying to Beijing tomorrow till Friday, and Monday he is flying to Vienna for a week. Hope you will continue to like it, as, apparently, you are doing right now. I am back in Nanjing as of the 9th. If you need a bed in Nanjing, give a call. But we might also be in Shanghai as of the 12th or so for a few days. Perhaps, if you are back there, we invite you for dinner??
before it started i got a summary for all three parts before the opera started. so i knew a little what it was about and i was surprised how similar to our operas the topics were. two were really tragic and the third one was somehow comical, but of course all were about love. thanks peter.
Impressing Pictures Thanks Florian for the nice report! The pictures of the opera are very impressing! I have tried sometimes to follow such an performance but it is quite difficult and so different what I know about an opera. I hope you were more successful. All the best for your further trip!

you're welcome linda! and thank you for the confirmation that i still sound like myself and that i described the trip well enough so that you would have loved to join although i still sound like me ;)
break Thanks, Florian. I had a great break by reading your last entry. While raeding, there came the same thought again and again: "Yes, that's Florian!" I would have loved to join you.
:) Hi Florian! I'm really glad to hear from you that regularly. That means I do not have to get a flight yet, to get you out of prison. ;) Reading your travelblog is a great chance to take a break from learning. Thanks! Let it rock in China!
Great idea - thanks for sharing your adventure! Dear Florian, the 1st time when I got your email I was confused about a "blog". Sofia explained me and after that I discovered your travel impressions - a great idea! We feel very close to your adventure. I also realize, that we had not Chinese food together to practice chop-stick usage - you will be a master after that trip! Thanks for the impressing pictures. I am curios getting new "blogs" from you. Peter
Hi Florian! WOW! You suprised me! You told me that you'd like to travel a bit but I didnt expect China...
A friend of mine was in China last year. He told me that chineese people liked him very much for two reasons:
1. He was tourists so they sold him things 10 times more expensive than normally :)
2. He is red, so they pulled his beard at every occasion to check if it is real :))
Knowing you a bit I wonder what kind of stories you'll tell when you're back :)))
Have a great time!!
