olympics Are you watching the olypics at all? The US women gymnasts finished second as a team, but first and second in individual all-around - a reveral where lukin won and johnson second. I was not sure which to root for - they are both likeable. Individual events over the next three days. Phelps has won 7 golds so far in swimming - 6 world records - one more race for him.....

Today it is 105 in Portland. Crazy hot. It is supposed to be 58 degrees here today. Our exchange student from Portugal arrives at 4pm today. Hopefully will work well. Happy Birthday - again!!

I dont know if this shows which comment I'm responding to or if it just adds itself to the list...but this is in response to tosh...
cold and rain? well we definitely have the rain here! and I wouldn't mind some of the cold! Fairbanks for 4th of July sounds fun! I'll try to send some sun your way...
HEY Dang you sound like your having way fun. Your not missing anything here in AK. I dont think we've seen sun at all this summer and it's either raining (and freezing) or cloudy and still cold. I went to fairbanks over the 4th weekend and that's the most sun i've seen all summer lol. I think my vitamin D is getting low so at least your getting all of your. I love hearing all your doing so keep posting.. when you can lol.
This is an ongoing, occasionally updated blog for whenever I'm off traveling the world doing exciting things. The first entries are from my gap year (2008-2009) of traveling and volunteering internationally. Now I will be writing from Switzerland where I am studying International Relations and Multilateral Diplomacy through the School for International Training for the spring semester (2012) and then from various places around Europe as I continue my travels. Enjoy! ... full info
