Ah, I'm looking forward to seeing you when you get back. Infusions decompression?
(I'd write more, but I'm in the middle of finals right now - aiee! Wish me luck, my dear).
Mm, and I WON'T be back for the St. Dot's reunion - I fly in about a week later. I could have made it work, but that would involve unnecessary stress and besides, as much as I dig the St. Dot's crew, I'd much rather just chill out here, taking baths and visiting lovers for a few days. I fly in on the 22nd and should be there for about 2.5 weeks. I'll give you a call (or you call me). Ciao bella!
all those who wander are not lost I know exactly what you mean, as Im sure others have this feeling too. This feeling that you could never, ever relate all the things you saw and experienced- and you wouldn't necessarily want to share them. I go backpacking alone frequently, and when I return home and people ask me how it was, I say "great!" or "fantastic!". Other people I know would go into a 2 hour monologue about their experiences, what they saw and did. but me? Im content in internalizing the experience, forever cherishing it for what it is truly worth- self-enrichment, exploration of this wonderful world we live in, timeless and fulfilling. I tend to think that people who talk incessantly about experiences or vacations do it just for the stories. I suppose by talking about this I have exposed myself- One could argue I travel just to take pictures. I like to think that the pictures I take should do all the story-telling. When someone asks, "How was your vacation to Chile?" I say- "Awesome, whats your email and Ill send you the pictures" and I leave it at that...
If you ever need help readjusting to the Bay let me know, Im in Santa Clara! you know, travelling is what you make of it, and theres no reason you cant continue your adventurous spirit and zest for life back at home, same as if you are on the road. Cheers!

Very thought trip.. Wow, not everybody feels good in Bolivia, thought it is a beautiful country, it has so many hazards and its quite umcomfortable for people from developed countries.. Are you going to leave soon?? you are missing La Paz, and you will be missing the amazon too! You should visit Pando, it is a small department at the north of Bolivia hot as hell (33 degrees celsius) but it is the head of the rain forest, absolutely wonderful.. By the way, if you come to La Paz and need help, dont hesitate to contact me mgfer@yahoo.com I would gladly show you some part of this city.. Mauricio

Hello beautiful travelling Erin!
It's so so good to hear/read from you.
Things are oh-so beautiful up here in Washington. I'm getting all my study abroad stuff off (trying to go to Amsterdam next semester to study sexuality and gender identity - so excited) and am enrolled in rockin' classes. ALL of my classes are in Religion or Gender Studies departments (or both! oh, and yoga) and are making me really happy about learning and schooling.
I've met a few really cool cats and we're doing circus skill-shares two or three times a week. I'm also up in Seattle at least once or twice a week. I've had a good time hula hooping, rubber duckie racing, getting a bunch of friends to make out in the Seattle Public Library's elevators, and am in the process of making BEAUTIFUL new friends. Holy moly, I've really hit jackpot this year - where did all these fabulous people come from and why haven't I met them before? I guess now is the exact right time.
So, long vida short, todos es fantabulous.
Thinking of you,
-Anna

Hey!!! Cool Glad to hear you've gotten to Cusco in one piece. I'm in New York about to sign a year lease with the buddies. Its been good, I made a bunch of cash helping someone with their web site and my computer got damaged when it was shipped over to me. Um, thats the short version! Have fun doing the espanol thang.

muy groovy Very excited for your adventures. I think working with the children in jail will be an amazing experience.
Are you standing on the lower step so that you will not be taller than the boys? Hehehe.
Erin! I'm so glad your travels are going well - be sure to keep us updated. I'm curious what the jail's like. I know you won't have much time to write, but I'm looking forward to reading more. Some time when we're both in the same general area we'll have to have more extensive hang-out/tea-drink/fabulous conversation. Cheers!
Wish I was there! Enjoy the city. Try to do everything during the day. It is safer. The colonial side is awesome. I heard they have a new amusement park. You might want to check it out. Try also make little trips around the small towns [Guayllabamba, La Mitad del Mundo, El Quinche]. Well, jst wanted to say good luck and always try the tours.... they might be expensive but they always show you the best.
I recently graduated from UCSD, finished working at the Programs Abroad Office (PAO), and spent the summer counseling at St. Dots summer camp with rad loving people (including my sis). Infected with the travel bug from day one working at PAO, I am fulfilling a part of my curiosity about the world by heading south to Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. I am fairly well prepared, though I need to find where my malaria pills ran off to and purchase some closed-toed shoes.
My favorite part about travelling and adventure is that there can only be so much preparation involved. The real enjoyment is see... full info
