Catch up Emily, your writing is great and I've had a real taste of these wonderful places - minus the heat and discomfort. I was thinking about you a lot last wekend as I went to see a production by the Hull Truck Company called 'Blonde Bombshells' and one of the main characters was so like you, same voice and lovely singing voice but I wasn't sure if you could also play the clarinet and trumpet as well as she did!! I'm really looking forward to the next leg of the trip. Love, Stephanie
Not fair =[ WOW!!! Absolutely amazing, a true case of "...wish I was there".
Constantly wondering "Where will Emily go next?". Looking forward to seeing you when you get back so's I can hear all the stories first hand!
Kx
catwalk comment!! Love the outfit Em, orange is supposed to be really in this season, maybe you should have kept it!!?? Sounds like Oz didn't turn out too bad in the end then, loved the pics and your writing too. Maybe there is room in the world for another travel writer. You could single handedly save us from Bill Bryson blight. keep up the good work.
This is such an odd entry. It doesn't read like you at all and it seems as though you've written it for a very disapproving aunt! Nevertheless we miss you, and I'm glad you got to go to my bits of Australia. I still want to go back there one day. *sigh*
you rock girl!!!! Her sister!! So good to read you having the best time in you life. you go girl. the sesion is allmost over here in patagonia and the i`m up north. Bolivia!!!! Enjoy like there is no tomorrow.......beso from the end of the world!!!!!
The meaning of life ... Hi Em, Re Oz Zoo, I told you that you'd end up cuddling koalas (well, nearly)!
Fantastic read. The combo of photos, anecdotes, people, places, highs and lows - and of course the reflective bits on the meaning of life - is fabulously rich and colourful. I reckon that your journey may well turn out to be a microcosm of life ... (the answer is NOT 42 nor a bowl of cherries).
BTW, we're feeling properly chastised, and B has arranged a get-together on the 23rd, where wine will flow ... and Ant will receive his briefing!
Still madly jealous ...
'Un abbraccio' (as we pseudo-Italians say) - Tony xx
Another chapter comes to an end Lovely to get the update. I can't believe sometimes too that you have been away for six months - same as you, sometimes a lifetime ago, sometimes it seems so fresh. Good luck for Asia, and I am soooo looking forward to seeing you in May. xxxxx
Blue Mountain Knes Hi Em
Blue Mountains brings back memories. My knees have only just recovered from the descent to the valley floor! I cheated and got the steep train back up. Hope VietNam comes off. Give my love to Byron's Bay.
Love Keith
amusing Hi! Im just here checking up on my travel journals that I wrote 22 of last year whilst cruising around (www.travelblog.org/bloggers/derangered) when I stumbled on an Adelaide article on the frontpage! Not many folks from around the world stumble on our sleepy little village so it's good to see that someone actually came. I really enjoyed your personal touches and your 'finding yourself' dilema because I think alot of us world travelers keep it in the back of their minds that you have to 'find yourself'. I think you'll discover that it's not so much a quest and rather a series of events all combined once you exit the circus of a world trip that make the 'finding yourself' seem like a waste of energy. Relax and wait til you get home and can finally appreciate what you have achieved because I guarantee you're achieving something each and every day on this trip. I hope you continue to love my Country!
Typical mum reaction! So sorry to hear you have had sad times - move on and enjoy again please. Very envious of tennis needless to say, great photos. Also envious - can't believe you have a photo of you and Dr K!!! You always did love that programme!
Great blog! Hi there, Im just a passing web surfer who took a little time to read your journals and thought you've summed up the places you've visited nicely. Really good descriptions and some fantastic photos. I dont know what kind of camera you have but even if you had a digital SLR some of the results couldnt get much better.
I travelled through Sth America a few years ago and lived in New Zealand for 20-odd years before moving to my current home in the UK and its nice to read of your candid views of the places you are visiting, many of which I know very well..Bizarrely you must be only about a few chapters ahead of me in the motorcycle diaries at the moment too.
Enjoy Aus! Its Australia Day tomorrow!
About time too! Long awaited next installment - you don't realise just how much everyone looks forward to reading them. Fantastic pics as usual. Sorry you were not able to enjoy the kayaking as you should, but I guess not everything works out as planned.
looks fab Glad to see you enjoyed South America, your experiences of it are fueling my desire to get there as soon as possible! Dave traveled to South America and has always said he'd like to go back. In fact we briefly spoke about going to Argentina in the Summer for some snowboarding-but not sure that will happen-money pending
Take care and travel safely-love the quotes form Neruda in your blog x
I am on my way ! Great reading and whetting my appetite ! I will be cruising down the Beagle Channel 30 January 2007 in anticipation of those wonderful experiences of the Antarctic Peninsular returning to Ushuaia 6 February. Some great photos. Thanks Em.
NZ Enjoy, I loved Punakaiki, if you're feeling energetic and non-blistered Queenstown Hill is only a little climb and the views are fantastic. If you find a restaurant called the Captains Table on the main mall that's where I used to work !!
New Career? Your photos are amazing - better than anyone elses I have seen. Maybe that should be your new career. Lovely to talk to you tonight. Keep happy! Love Mum xxxx
New Zealand Em, my Dad was a captain in the merchant navy and spent many years working for the New Zealand Shipping Co.
My dream has always been to go there someday.
The photos are amazing! I live in hope!

Happy Christmas! Hi Em, just wishing you a happy christmas and all the best for the new year. Was thinking about you as I munched on my turkey and am pleased you found a family to spend the day with. Sounds like you are still having a wonderful time - love the dolphins; long may the adventures continue. Lots of Love Kate. P.S. I finally got myself an IPOD - how could I live without one?
Happy Christmas! Lovely to see such up to the minute pics. Hope you had a great day. You are asleep now, and we are still celebrating - seems a little weird!
Hope the trip in the camper van is good. Speak to you soon. Love Mum xxxx
Have Fun I'm here at work looking at you photo's and reading your story. I was there in Valparaiso 14 yrs ago while I was in the U.S. Navy and it brought back some nice memories. Cherish these times and you to can someday be at work and read someone elses travelblog and escape from reality for a while.
Hi!
I embarked on a solo round the world trip from September 2006 - June 2007, and this is documented in words and pictures over the following pages. I will also be adding tales of future trips, as and when they come up.
Enjoy!
