welcome home Welcome back to the UK, perhaps you should convert your blogs into a travel book and publish it, as it make good and interesting reading which is well illustrated with your fantastic photos.
Love to you both from your family up North.
Reading about your year long travel adventures has kept me entertained thoughout several weeks worth of lunches. I enjoyed reading about all the places outside the US because I haven't seen them and I enjoyed all of your travels through the US because I have seen all of them and could relive the pleasure of travel again. It would be nice to hear about your return to reality - I assume the working world.
A year already! Wow, I can't believe that it's been a year! I remember meeting you on the third day of your year-long trip, when you had so much to look forward to. You have seen and done many amazing things (of which I am very jealous!). Take care, and keep in touch. Celeste (Canada)
Travelblog Just reading your blog I feel I was back there. The condors, the Nazca lines. Pisco was very depressing and I truly felt for the people. Imagine what the people in China went through. I am sure enjoying reliving my time in Peru through your blog. Keep enjoying your year.
You Can't Come Back Well from an outsider "reading and looking in" it sounds as if South America has been the place where you have had some of the most eye opening experiences. It's certainly enthused me to travel there. Look forward to a beer or 10 catchup on your return.
quito too Hi I'm here in Quito too and loved your comments c.f. Quito, but hey would you consider naming the good hostals, eating places, and bars so that the many others who read ahead in anticipation of their arrivals can benefit from your good discretion.
Hi, its been a while since i have been able to log onto your site. Your blogs are wonderful. I have throughly enjoyed catching up with your exploits! Take care.

Bussing it overnight in Australia Guys,
Happy new year to you - hope you had a great time wherever you seen in the new year.
By now you'll have already experienced overnight buses in Australia - brings back great memories for me of a journey from Adelaide to Darwin (via Alice Springs). Make sure you take every opportunity to stock up on pies at the stops ;-) If you can't sleep, the drivers are always good for a chat ...
Cheers,
Niall.
Street Theft Hi Jim, thanks for reading our blog, hope you are enjoying them. We had no problems in VN or any of the places we have visited so far, however, someone in our group had their pocket picked in Ho Chi Minh although nothing was in there for him to lose. We had been warned prior so we kept everything in either in a money belt or zipped away, but this kind of thing could happen in any city, and we have felt safer wandering around the cities in SE Asia than we probably would back home in London. VN definitely caters for tourists well but you may get charged more than a local in some circumstances which can be annoying....but don't let this put you off, you can always barter and its a great country to visit....we will definitely go back 1 day. Simon and Elaine
street theft Hi guy's:
Been reading your blogs as I'm going on about the same trip as you are now on.
Did you have any problems with pick pockets or grab and run type thefts while in Viet Nam? Have heard that VN is really not ready for tourisum yet because of lying, cheeting tour operators and the rip off artests Did you experience any bad things in VN other than the floods?.... Thanks in advance for your reply.... Jim
Come back to work - All Is Forgiven Hi Simon and Elaine. I have just been reading your blog and like everyone else am very jealous. I was just looking through my bookmarks as I am looking to climb Mont Blanc with an ex-BT colleague next year and was looking up a web site when I came across your blog bookmark. I can't believe how much you have seen/been in such a short time. Back in work I have only made a small amount of progress in the same time (:-. I will now remember to read your blog more often. Take Care - Artie

Hong Kong food Si ... I hope those sesame rolls didn't actually have a "sweat custardy filling" - different tastes and all that, but that would be beyond the pale for me :-)
Glad to hear you survived! I'm so glad to hear that the two of you survived the hostel in Hong Kong! I was very worried about you, what a sketchy place!
Hope that you are having a great time on the next leg of your journey :)
