The picture with the caption saying Train Freedom makes it sound like you were liberating the poor Thailanders from the cruel train driver. Well I can't think of a more friendly liberator than you are. That picture really looks like you boarding the train from a galloping horse aka western movie, or perhaps a speeding ferrari aka James Bond style. Anyways hope you are having a blast.
Wow. Songkran looks like an absolutely fantastic holiday. I will have to welcome you back to the Walla Walla Airport with our own little version of Songkran! A drenched Drew Rogers and two dozen happy Songkran participants with super soakers! Sounds like fun!!!! We hope you hurry home Drew.
Colorful descriptions and facinating journey. This is exciting Drew, your narration make me feel like I'm seeing everything, well not maybe the darts! I love your sense of humor and adventure. Can't wait for the next installment.
Hola from Walla Walla! Drew, I'm so glad you're getting to see the moon shine on the other side of the world. You're a great story teller, I almost felt like I was there for a second. Take care of yourself and eat lots of yummy Thai food. If you can steal a couple of recipes for me, I will mow your lawn! :)
Thai Swimmers Hi Drew,
I don't know who told you that Thai people can't (or don't) swim, but I'm sure you'll find out soon that they do. In Bangkok, for example, you'll probably see little kids swimming in the dirty water of the Chao Praya River.
I'm sooo jealous! Your adventures are fun to read; thanks for the blog. I'm especially interested as I've been reading a series of books set in Laos, Vietnam, and touching on Thailand by Colin Cotterill. I've a flavor of the culture from his stories and find it facinating.
The pictures are fantastic to see and I'm sure we'll be treated to a lot more; maybe a family and friends potluck night viewing of those that don't make the blog. Looking forward to more in 10 days.
Brenda
DREW!! Drew, I am so glad that you made it to Thailand safely. It sounds like its been quite the adventure. Make sure you try a mangosteen for me, and let me know how it tastes. When you come back we need to all have a get together to hear about how your trip went.
Alright, well we will wait to hear from you again!
Sawade Krap ( I just thought that was cool cause it gives me an excuse to say crap) HAHA

Great Stuff, Drew! Drew, I love your blog! Of course I have heard a lot about Thailand from Tom through the years but he doesn't really write about it or describe it the way you do (sorry Tom :P). I almost feel like I'm traveling with you so keep it up! Thailand sounds similar to The Philippines, but unique in its own way. Oh, and my fave bit was the quip about the ceiling fan on steroids lol!
Enjoy yourself Drew,
Glad to hear you made it okay. I hope you enjoy your time there and it will be interesting hearing about your travels. Keep in touch. I am forwarding this to Neosha so that she can enjoy it as well.
Take Care!
