Had a busy last day in the Czech Republic. Went to the Beatles exhibit, bought some souvenirs there and spent the rest of the day relaxing, eating and shopping. I found out this evening that our flight back was going to be delayed for a few hours because of the British Airways strike. Although this vacation is almost over, I will take away a number of learning points to share. Travel allows you to see the world in a different perspective, taking the views and attitudes of others as an opportunity to expand one's own attitudes and perspectives. The rest and restoration that occur are invaluable to the physical and mental health of a person. There is no place like home. I am going to schedule my next vacation in a few months from now the ... read more

We had a great day, cloudy but no rain, contrary to the prediction of steady rains. Attended the Free Europe Walking Tour that we've taken advantage of throughout European cities we've visited. We learned the history of the country and the city, sprinkled with the jokes, quips and lighthearted style of these young, college aged, tour guides. This city is rich with history, brutal and beautiful. The buildings are up to nearly a thousand years old, having avoided the bombings of most German occupied cities in most of central and eastern Europe. The city is the home of Kafka, Mozart, and Dvorak. It contains the oldest active synagogue in Europe. Tomorrow is our last full day in Europe and we plan on spending time looking for souvenirs, do some more touring and take a lot more ... read more

Last day in France included the important job of buying chocolates at Jeff of Bruges. Heidi was in heaven. I had my last French baguette before leaving The preparations of travel to the Czech Republic by jet today took up a major part of the day. A rainy downpour greeted us at the Czech capital, but we were delighted to arrive at a lovely hotel. They upgraded our room to a suite as a courtesy and the room is opulent. Life is good. Finished the day with a Moroccan/Czech restaurant at the hotel. Tomorrow we start touring the town. Miss you all. Only one picture today.... read more

The day included some rain and some great French food. Couldn't see the Pompidou Museum or Sainte Chapelle because they were closed today. Instead went to the largest cathedral in Paris, the D'Orsay Museum, and to a photography exhibit celebrating the 100th anniversary of the French photographer, Willie Ronis. To see the works of Cezanne, Manet, Monet, Lautrec, Van Gogh, Renoir, and many other Impressionists all within a few yards of one another is a treat beyond description. The grandeur and beauty of the Cathedral were only surpassed by the Vatican. We are looking forward to our visit to the Czech Republic tomorrow, but will miss the people of France. We had a very full day. Traveled along the main shopping boulevard checking out the sweet shops, shoe stores and avant garde stores. We sampled the wonderful regional food and met with friendly natives. Had dinner with family who we haven't seen in four years and had a wonderful time. This has been a magical vacation. Enjoy the pictures.... read more

Arrived day before yesterday on the Eurostar to, what the people here consider, the most beautiful city in the world, without equal. It is also considered the city of love. And although I've been here twice before, for the first time I understand that title, being here with Heidi for her first time. We have in the last two days participated in two walking tours, one of the Old City and one of the artist area. The young men and women who conduct the tours for New Europe Tours are knowledgeable, amiable and very professional. We attended the tour in Scotland with the same group. We are trying different French restaurants daily, but we are starting to miss good old American food. The intact architecture from hundreds of years ago is stunning and remarkably pervasive throughout ... read more

The day spent in Belgium at St. Pierre Hospital with the dbMotion implementation team. They were very gracious in reviewing their project, the successes and the pitfalls and challenges. They took Heidi and I out to a classic Belgium restaurant and cuisine. It will be beneficial to compare our efforts in implementing dbMotion at CMHS and try to learn from their experience. We are on our way to France via the Eurostar bullet train. ... read more

Arrived today on the Eurostar through the Chunnel. Why can't we have trains like this in the USA? Arrived at our hotel and toured the old city. See if you can identify it. Had a lot of Belgium chocolate, their local specialty. I am meeting with our dbMotion counterparts at Saint Pierre's Hospital tomorrow an. Leaving to France in the afternoon tomorrow for a five day relaxation experience. We will take the Eurostar high speed train to get there. Glad that the Euro is dropping in value as compared to the dollar. Unfortunately, things are still expensive. Enjoy the pictures and touch bases tomorrow. Au Revoir... read more

What a journey! Three hightest peaks in Great Britain in 24 hours. Not me, but my son and his two friends. Started Monday afternoon, drove through the night and they conquered the two other peaks Tuesday evening. First question is what are the three peaks? Today we traveled around the city which is depicted in the photos. Tomorrow we head for Belgium to see the Saint Pierre's Hospital for a tour of their dbMotion implementation. Enjoyed Haggis, neeps and tatties on Monday and Welsh Stew last night. Looking forward to our rest in France. Cheers.... read more
