Hi Jon Great blog great pics too. Pleased you have explored the local countryside and enjoyed it so much. I'm surprised at the changeability of the weather over there just like good old England! Have a great week looking forward to seeing you soon - will I understand your US accent? lots of love Mum x

Update
Hi Jon, The Austen Riggs Centre seems very impressive, and also expensive. But if treatment there is successful, it is worth the expense because it changes patients lives for the better. The last two days in UK have been warm and dry. Yesterday evening was very still and pleasant, so I cycled to Bath, arriving back home at 9:45pm. I saw a fox on the cycle path near Bitton and cycled through clouds of midges, but it was not as exciting as sighting a bear! Today is back to normal; cloudy with some rain, and I think it will stay overcast at least until the weekend. I spread some lawn feed on bank holiday Monday, so the rain will help it to soak in. Judging by your photographs, the weather seems nice and sunny in Massachusetts. Best wishes, Dad

Thinking Boston - gonna do some research on it over the next couple of evenings, and think about going for an over-night stay (or maybe just one day)... xx

Wonderful life!
Jon, Your life sounds wonderful! Good job you didn't meet a bear. I met a bear on two occasions in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee one summer. They could tear your arm off. Then you'd need a doctor. And you, being the doctor, would have to sew it back on ... single handedly! I love your photos and reports! Good on you! Have a great rail trip to New York and I look forward to hearing about it!

Garden
Hi Jon, What a fantastic garden! Your photo Twilight at the lake.... showed a canoe with two people in it. Were they fishing? Did you have a go? Enjoy New York! Best wishes, Dad

No, we were just drinking beer on the lake-shore. I think they were just Kayaking - don't think they were fishing.. x

Weekend
Hi Jon, We had a lovely time in Sidmouth, weather and food excellent. The weather should be good in UK over the bank holiday, so we may go off somewhere and stay over night. Enjoy your weekend wherever you visit. Hope the weather is kind for you and we looking forward to hearing all about it. Best wishes, Dad
