Beautiful colours The photos you sent were beautiful...amazing colours...interesting how they don't show some of the more difficult aspects of the Ganges...dead bodies and all...yech...I am looking forward to seeing you when I drop Erik off at McGill in August...miss you very much...although it sounds like you have had a fantastic trip...Love always, Mom xoxoxoxoxo
looking forward to seeing both of you!!!!!!!!!!!!.... and not because I work for Mastercard......................I'll do a dry run to Apache to make sure I "get it right".
Love, Dad
rings and a shake to stay? The only problem stopping at Appache, that I can foresee, is that it will be fairly early in the morning and the "pit" may not have been fired up. Doesn't mean that we can't go back for lunch.
I do hope the two of you have a way of keeping the diary you're created on this blog. The pictures and the stories are truly amazing, not to mention the memories that you've managed to "capture".
I would have thought that the risk of dropping off the face of the earth was much greater in Calcutta than anywhere esle. It seems you've managed to debunk yet another misconception about India.
Look forward to seeing both of you as well as sharing a pint and the STORIES.
Love,
Dad
WOW................................... looking at the pictures (particularly from the cable car and the guest house)............there's not much more I have to say.
Well.......actually there is....look forward to seeing both of you soon.
Love,
Dad
Anyone for Tea? So I guess you guys are on top of cloud number 9 then? ok it's funny if you're really tired and by the sounds of it you guys are, so hopefully I got a couple giggles. Hope the sunburns have faded and you both are doing well...if you do see the snow leopards be sure to take lots of pictures for me!!
xoxoxo
sounds devine............. .............tea overlooking the mountains and valleys. I would have no problem "suffering" through the sweater part. Getting there on the buses you describe is another matter. I'm marginally taller than Heidi and way past sleeping on buses that take far too long to get where they're going. What would it be like to cycle?
Tea at the Windermere Hotel none-the-less. Clearly not the one at the north end of Lake Rosseau.
Have fun.
Love,
Dad
David/Heidi: I'm sure that if the Rhino had charged David would have jumped from Monty to defend you! I'm suprised that he didn't wrestle the crocodiles, probably too much Tibetan tongba!!
Cheers!
carpet money hey guys!!
I continue to travel from my desk chair vicariously through your wonderful blog, both of you write so well and your pictures have been fantastic.
If you do make it to Darjeeling and are able to find out all the det's on carpets (provided its not too mental trying to figure it all out), I may be interested. Though don't spend too much of your time researching. Emailing money I've figured out recently is way too easy though and if it's a bargain, I could be in. Keep me posted....
Love you lots, Dee.
...........the adventure continues.......... David/Heidi:
Did the pole that the driver used to hold of the rhino off look anything like a Festivus Pole? If so, please go back and get it.
None of us should complain the next time the TTC is running behind schedule. Makes the TTC union look like a bunch of pansies.
I have to admit, the presence of banks, computers and airports doesn't seem to make that big a difference.........the wrong things just go wrong faster.
Miss ya both,
Love Dad
Good god! Heal those blisters missy! I know how painful they can be, although I only got a sunburn blister on my nose, which isn't THAT involved in say...White water rafting. Glad you guys are having fun, as Aunt Anne and Katherine have said, no death if you please. And that includes death from heat stroke! Drink your water, but PLEASE avoid the parasites, I have no intention of visiting you in the Nepalan version of Sick Kids.
Condition Upon Arrival.... I am behind Katherine..... No fatal accidents are permitted. I will be pleased to greet weary travellers but am not interested in picking up wooden crates at the ariport...... Adventure is great.... wonderful deserts await you at home! Enjoy and keep writing
Back on dry land Oh my gosh I can't believe what you guys have done so far.. amazing.. um but it just needs to be said, rule #1 for this little adventure NO DEATH ALLOWED! just in case rules have not been established that is the number one rule. I'm sure all the pictures you have are unbelievable!!! enjoy the next couple of days, I look forward to reading them.
xoxoxxo
CLASS V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That water moves "pretty quickly". Good to hear you both enjoyed it/scared the sh_t out of you. Can't remember where I read that one should do one thing everday that scares the sh_t out of us.
Please be careful in the sun. As I'm sure you've both figured out, it can be serious.
Ask around to see if tiger balm is any good for arthritic hips. If so, bring some home as I get ready for "Le Tour" this summer (it can't hurt). :-)
Enjoy Chitwan and take lots of pictures.
Love,
Dad
girl interrupted ...as I was saying...I can put you in touch with some very hospitable and very lovely ppl in Thamel.
I am sorry to hear that you are under the weather...rest up and keep us all posted. Enjoy enjoy enjoy!!!
PS. and thanks for the plug..I will now enjoy eternal internet blog fame forever!!!!! muahahaha
Im famous - sort of! Just discovered this amazing blog of yours - and may i just say that in 30 yrs you ought to gather all your blog postings, bind them together, and sell them as a book! You two are amazing. That said, I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying Nepal, Kathmandu and Thamel especially, being that that is where I spent most of my time in Kathmandu. If you will be there much longer let me know as
Way to go, David & Heidi Great pictures, interesting descriptions, fascinating experience, colourful and impressionable traditions, culture and beauty.
Enjoy your trip to Nepal, India and, I think you are going to SE Asia and Japan. It is a different part of the world that presents a different philosophy of life.
Best wishes.

Bagmati Burger? Given that Heidi is the creator of the 'breakfast burger' ......when I saw what appeared at first glance to be a picture of Weber's new location on the banks of the Bagmati I could see great potential for a new business in Kathmandu. How bout the 'enlightenment burger'? Save lots on charcoal.
Pics are great. Is that a floater on the Bagmati??
AMAZING........................... I was beginning to wonder id the two of you had become monks (monkettes?), not having heard from you for a while.
Sorry to hear you're both a under the weather and be careful in the sun (an understatement at this point I'm sure). The rafting sounds like a BLAST.
ENJOY!!!!!!
Love,
Dad
Hey Lovers,
Take them up on some of that marijuana they're offering you... I heard it's pretty good. JUST KIDDING. Drugs are bad. Sounds AMAZING! The pictures are awesome. Thanks for the birthday wishes and I'm glad you had a few on the big day!! I'm doing some planning myself... I leave for England and France in about a month and I'm planning a few days when we're in around Dieppe.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
