Rotorua is a nice enough place. A bit like Taupo in that it is by a lake, it's very volcanic and you can do every imaginable extreme sport here. Two things wrong with the place. One, it stinks. The entire town smells of rotten eggs due to all the sulphur. And two, there are far too many Americans. Especially where we were staying. There seemed to be an entire plane load, all the same age, jabbering about how oarsome everything was. They must be in to rowing. One guy was loudly telling nobody in particular about the greatest meal he had ever, ever, ever had. Yes, it was a pizza. Rotorua does redeem itself, however, by being the home of the Zorb. The greatest single invention I believe that the Kiwis have contributed to this world.
