Way to go Dan! Hi Dan, Just read all your blogs in sequence - astonishing stuff! Much relieved to find you are still alive and not in some grim prison. We're off next week to spend a month with Rick and Kellie in Melbourne, taking with us a pram for the imminent Possie. Fourteen hours on a jump seat is not half as much fun as waiting a week for a visa. All the best to you and Gill, you are both truly bonkers!
Cheers, Mike
MALI/BURKINA FASO Interested to read your observations of Bamako. Sad that Dogon Country is discouraged due to Al Qaeda in the north...the trekking there is magnificent. Timbuktu a no go...very sad. Gotta luv the mud mosques. As you have been through there Kap's thread in the Africa Forum "Mali...bloggers uniting for peace?" is a must for you. And by the way...more pics please. Keep safe.
I always wonder what has happened to our bloggers who are traveling in dangerous places... who stop blogging for awhile. Good to have you back. In the meantime you have been awarded Blogger of the Week, so keep it up.
Great Blog :) Reading your blog, I had visions of your wheel bouncing through the air, taking everything out in its path. I used to work for a Toyota dealership, so I know how heavy they are too. Pisses you right of doesn't it when everyone is on at you for money and the like. I usually feign poverty and start speaking Swedish to them, this ends most conversations quite quickly.... Have a safe trip guys :)
We went to Fes last fall. I had not thought of Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance in a long time. Your blog has provided us with many pleasant memories.
Amazing account of your travels. Possibly a book. Will comment later as we are about to to babysit Jo
and you whilst Sinead and Rob go to the removal ot Robs\' grandad who died yesterday aged 103. Do mind yourselves. love mum
Fantastic Blog A descriptive and engaging narrative of corrupt officials (illegal to carry bags inside a vehicle?!), bleak landscapes, fishing, and other experiences along a road less travelled.
Somebody's Always Got It Worse Than You Think of Brazil & Lady Penelope who got married today (Jun 24)!, imagine having to explain to the outlaws that you met on an internet forum and a rugby one at that!
Keep up the good exploring
Hello Hope all is well & travel s are safe, good & interesting? All good here but the weather is toilet. Off to rowing next weekend at Tideways then a few days off across Europe for a new work venture.
Greetings from oz Enjoying the blog, guys... Especially likening the adhan to a 'special needs choir'. Gold. Halfway to your first fatwah, I reckon. Now stop being so nice about everything, and start amusing me!
Welcome to Africa! Great to be following your travels! If you keep this level of detail up all round I will be very impressed. Fantastic photos. Stay safe, love Sarah x

Why drive to Cape Town from London? We thought we would be wise to pre-empt any impending midlife crises and do something daft and irresponsible on our terms, well, it was either that or Danny ending up buying a Harley and a leather jacket or Gill bringing an AK-47 into the classroom.... full info
