Rhys and I are very envious that you got to hear Sharon Shannon at Tig Coili. She's one of his favorites. Thanks for the photo of her also! Enjoying your blog.

Globe and Mail today Hi Geoff: Globe and Mail travel section has a piece about a guy biking through that neck of the woods. That should interest you:

quote: "Why, I ask myself, did people ever choose to live in this godforsaken place? They had to make their soil by hauling seaweed in wagonloads from the coast; had to heat their homes with peat dug from the valleys' bogs; had to find solace in the churches, now in ruins. Such determination."
Yay! Finally the pictures I've been waiting for! It's great to see a bit of what Galway town looks like. Different than what I imagined. So can anybody show up and play or is it more planned than that. I wonder what the etiquette is. Great groupie shot of Sharon!
What a lot of great choices of what to do this weekend! How will you ever choose? It's so great you're soaking up the music.
Josie's here. We three went for i.c. at Chelsea last night.
Love, K
Wow! That's beautiful! And i don't have to stand in the rain to appreciate it, thanks Geoff! But really, it must be absolutely stunning beyond what a photo can convey... Keep up the blog, this is fun! xoxoJosie
yay! I like this blog idea. It's nice to hear that your doing well and getting settled. Can't wait to read more of your adventures (the pictures are nice too). I'll have to email you some of mine in exchange. :-)
Love, Caitlin
Yeah, come to think of it, Josie's right. Where are the people and where are you besides a picture of you in blue bike helmet, which could be anywhere?
peaceful days Glad to read and see you settling in, G! Funny that there are no people in any of your photos. I hope we'll get a few with you to prove these aren't stock images that you're posting from a beach in Mexico or something. xoxoJ
Happy trails It's good to see that you made it safely. Things got a little squirrelly in London as Sara was ready to depart (on account of the terror scare,) but she got home just fine. We'll be following your travels with interest.
Cheers,
Bob

looks like you only made it 1/2 way up the spire. Looks like a beautiful, vibrant place. Dave
