WOW
I am impressed with Cambodia. The tree growing out of the temple is amazing. The carvings of the elephants is incredible, and the countryside...(speechless). You guys are lucky. Next stop come visit us in Honolulu.

Different perspective
This entry certainly gives me a new look at Vietnam. I went through there in 1964, landing in Saigon and spending a couple of hours on the ground. I was 9 and even then had heard of the fighting. both my Dad and husband served in the Army in Vietnam. Even people who were not physically injured were marked by this time. Should I send you some water wings? We miss you at TSC. Valerie

You guys are inspirational!
Hey guys, so glad that you're having a great time! You've made me laugh, wonder, get a little anxious at times, and (most importantly) be ever so thankful for hot, running water! Wishing you the best! - Bill

Wow!
This looks like a place i'd really love to go, thanks too for the tip on flying to Laos from Chang Mai. How is it going with the number of clothes you have and getting them cleaned? I think you each just have one backpack right? Thanks for adding details about the country.

what they don't know
Poor children - they didn't have us to warn them about Dave! Good thing you didn't have Bob with you - that would have done them in! Glad you are enjoying Laos - I'm enjoying your blogs!

Happy travels
Good info on round the world tickets. Just wanted to add that there is another option that we used and that is going with an air broker. You basically tell them all the places you want to go and in what order and they gather up the necessary tickets. This leaves a lot more flexibilty in your planning because they use all airlines, not just partners. There are no time limits and you can go in any direction you want. After pricing both, it is about the same price as an "around the world ticket". For us this was great because we were flying to some out of the way places and going all over the map. We were really happy with Air Brokers International out of San Francisco. (www.airbrokers.com) Hope your trip is wonderful!

none
What fun!! I decided I was getting tired of Ohio again - like you have lived out of Ohio more than in it and took and job at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. Cost of living is through the roof, but I love, love my job. Outpatient cancer clinic - I work exclusively for two doctors four days a week. Biff is with me and the love of my life is Eddie my piebald miniature dashchund.
