More Olies

All of your photos are making me salivate! This photo is gorgeous - the black olives against the background of lemon yellow and blue ... what I'm going to imagine is cloth. Marvelous.

Marrakesh Spices

Love this photo!
The colors here are outstanding and I can only imagine the aromas. Moroccan markets have definitely been on my "must experience" for a while and this only bolsters that desire. Curious what that beautiful blue is - edible or a dye I wonder?

Marrakesh Spices

Hi Stephanie,
Glad you enjoyed some of our photos. It was a great trip. The blue comes from seashells that have been ground up and they use it for a dye when making those lovely scarves and things. It is an amazing deep blue and fun to watch them transform the material into the fabulous colors.

Tunneling in the snow

Hi Mell,
Yes, we just saw it and it brought a tear to my eye. We miss her so much and long to have just one more day with her. She was the best dog ever. That was very thoughtful of you to send. Thank you.

WOW!
Hi Merry, just want to say it is very inspiring to read about all of the amazing places you and your husband have been! I like how you not only are going to see the world, but you experience the people as well. I hope I pick a worthy place for my upcoming big birthday, I think I may have to steal one of your trips!

Considering Colorado for Retirement
We look forward to your visit next year on your way to Ohio. We retired here six years ago after having checked out all 50 states. We love it, so check Woodland Park out!

Response from Bob and Linda
We live in Woodland Park, about 30 minutes west of Colorado Springs in the mountains. Last week we were visited by Slowfeet, David and Pat. They said they would be seeing you when they got to San Francisco. They are wonderful people and you will enjoy their visit, as did we. If you ever come this way, stop for a visit!
8th November 2011

Hello Bob and Linda
We would love to hook up with you when we come that way. We are actually considering the Denver area for retirement. We will drive that way next year on the way back to Ohio.

I'm sold
This will definitely be a destination sooner rather that later. We were recently at an auction at which we bid on and bought a photo safari to South Africa so possibly we could combine Morocco and South Africa in one trip. How long were you in Morocco? How did you find your guide? Always love your trip blogs. Sonja

Sally and Nick
What a great place for a honeymoon. I will have to go back and read those blogs. We had a marvelous time. We've just gotten back home. We wrote 4 blogs about the trip and I think that is all we will write. Don't want to over do it.

Sunset & a brew

Hi Mel,
The beer photos always gain attention. The beaches were lovely and even the cloudy sunset was amazing. We are in JFK trying to get back to SF. Our flight leaving Casablanca was delayed 7 hours for mechanical reasons. We are bound to get home eventually.

Goats in trees
Just yesterday my daughter was talking about goats in trees in Morrocco, and today I reasd about it in your blog...quite a coincidence. I've enjoyed your blogs about Morrocco and will likely add it to my list of places to visit.
6th November 2011

Sounds like our blog was timely
The goats were cool. I guess they enjoy the nuts of the trees. I imagine you would enjoy Morocco. What part of Colorado are you located in?
5th November 2011

Great post!
Essaouira is amazing. I've been there several times and you've done it justice! Great photos, too. Yes, those goats do go up in those precious Argan trees. Although they really shouldn't as the trees are getting damaged. Poor things. Glad you enjoyed Morocco!

Hi Joel,
So glad you have enjoyed our ramblings about Morocco. We had a grand time. We are sad to head back to work.
