Llerena I'm so happy for you. Happy not that you went to Spain but that you are getting so much out of it. You are really grasping and taking note of every moment there. Realizing these are precious memories you are making while taking in the pleasure & beauty and learning someting. I love how you said "It’s nice though that here people drink not to necessarily get drunk but more to enjoy something delicious that there is a specialty in making and drinking. Cruzcampo is to be enjoyed, not funneled" Just love that you are seeing and experiencing life in a different way. It's funny because I have seen and I'm sure you have as well people purposely drinking to get drunk....falling over, getting sick...to wake up the next day and not remember a thing. How sad when your life is spent night after night like that. Your missing out on goodtimes, friends, good memories and a nice drink which if consumed the way it is meant would bring much more enjoyment. Besides that same drink if shared during goodtimes will bring you back to those happy memories. I'm not sure what a "Cruzcampo" is but I can tell you that years later if you have one, you'll smile with every sip thinking back on Spain. I guess like so many other things people abuse what's meant not to be abused....as a result they aren't living the life God has purposed for them. Again, I'm happy for you...your out there living your life instead of just dreaming about it. Can't wait to read your next entry - Love you Tia Nancy
Seville I loved reading this blog. You reminded me of something. I can understand falling in love with a city, a place or country. I feel in love with the Dominican Republic when I went, more accurately I feel in love with its people. I felt a connection there even though I'm not Dominican. I realized thinking back that maybe I fell in love because I allowed it. I was open to the experience. I was really "looking" at what was going on around me instead of just walking past it. I wonder if that's what most of us do in our everyday life. How many tourists, vacationers, or exchange students come here and may find themselves falling in love with South Florida. I know skeptics will say we have too much crime and rudeness for anyone to fall in love but honestly crime and rudeness can be found anywhere if you look for it. You have reminded me that I need to slow down a little more in my everyday life. Life is what you make it. It is a choice. I have always been pretty good about enjoying life. There are times that I have spent when I have thought, “yep, I’m in the middle of creating a good memory.” I need to do this more maybe look at the world around me as if I'm visiting. Enjoy the beach more, appreciate our beautiful weather more, share laughter & time with more of my friends & kids and make memories. Thanks Christina
Wow Christina you are a good writer. I have questions about the last line in the last paragraph. I can imagine about what you mean about it seeming that you are home. I have never been in Spain and yet I seem to know that that is how I would also feel. I am very happy for you being there.
Sevilla is a Wome and Christina is a Poet I was always afraid that you looked forward to going to Spain so much and had such high expections, that somehow you would be disappointed. Very happily I can see from your blog that like most times, I had nothing to worry about. Looking forward already to your next blog. Love, mom
wow....so enjoyed reading your blog. I feel like I'm taking a trip through Seville as I'm reading it. I'm so glad your getting to experience this. It's amazing. Have fun although the adult / Tia in me also feels obligated to say, be careful. Love you Tia Nancy
Guapa Congrats, you hit the ground in Sevilla running! I'm so happy for you that everything is turning out to be what you expected and even some more...I trully enjoyed your blog today and my staff also! (Even Alfonso) Christina Cruising is going to be a hot site for the next 6 months. Enjoy...can't wait to see your pics. Good luck at school...Love ya, mercy.
Just get adjusted, first to the jet-lag, then to the lifestyle, "siesta" time definitely help, especially since Spaniards love going "de marcha," I'm sure you'll find out about that soon. Enjoy this great experience which very few people had. You and your brother are making your parents very proud. Best of luck. Mucha suerte, y no te olvides de estudiar.
This Is Great! This is great! I'm so grateful to the professor that gave you the idea of blogging. I'm so happy that everything went well. So happpy about your living accomodations. So happy about everything! Looking forward to pictures.
Here goes my first travel blog! Its my first time away from home and I'm off to Seville to wander the streets, get lost, eat, laugh, meet new people, party, shop, and fall in love with the city. It should be quite an adventure so I'll do my best to tell the insignificant, the grand, and everything in between. Stay tuned!... full info
