crazy trip wow, sounds like you had a crazy, hectic, fun, amazing vacation! the octopus and that fish tom sound dangerous! anyways, hope you get/have gotten back into classes alright. ttyl
hi again that sunset is beautiful! and i laughed when you captioned yourself saying if we forgot what you looked like HAHAHA! like i'd ever forget what you look like, even if we haven't seen each other since summer.
hi hi, those are some cool pictures, love the one of you standing in the dry river. i can't believe that Alice has boat races with people running holding the boats! that just sounds so crazy, like flintstones or something.
hi hey, sorry i didn't see this sooner, i've been busy and haven't caught up in your blog till now. thanks for the bday wishes! and, like claire says, sounds like your having an awesome time there, between weekend outings, interesting classes, and friends to spend time with.
Sounds like you're having a wonderful time, even if you're busy. And you seem to have plenty of friends to go out with, which is also good!
Chicago was wonderful-- they are finished with renevation in the lobby, which looks great, and they've also redone the rooms. ((Apparently it cost $150 million to do all this...)). It was exciting, but busy in most places we tried to go. For instance, we wernt able to see the Monet exibit at all because there was 2 hour line out the door of the building... so we went up the sears tower instead.
Can't wait to hear more of your adventures! ~~Bear
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Sweetie! I miss you like crazy; I'm so excited that it's only 51 days until I get to see you! I hope you have a great rest of the day. I can't wait to talk to you!

hi hey em, glad to hear that most of your classes are going well and that you are enjoying them! thats cool that you have ppl over there that you can meet up with. miss you! i had a deja vu moment last night and over the past week. i threw a surprise party for my roommate alysson and she had no idea! this time, i couldn't be the one getting her back here (remember me blindfolding you?), so it was all on dave, lol. it was great!
Hi Sweetie! I'm glad you liked the card. I'm surprised you got it so quickly; I only mailed it a week ago. I hope you had a great time at the talent show. I can't wait to talk to you!

hi em, just caught up on your blogs. the pictures from the museum and outing with katy are great! pancake house food looks so yummy, my mouth is watering. sounds like you have a busy easter break planned, can't wait to see the pictures! Have a great week ahead!
That's really great that you found a printer so cheap; that'll be really convenient for you. I hope you have a great day today!

PS: I love your description "nicely and emphatically."
Sounds wonderful down there! It's really gorgeous everywhere and I'm so jealous its summer!! WI got over 80 inches of snow this winter... that’s about 6 and a half feet. However, today is warming up to a toasty 43-- I wanted to eat my breakfast outside today.
Ross would LOVE that pancake house, as would Miles. I'd hate to see what sorts of beastly platters they would get.
Free Museums are wonderful, and great for bio-dorks like you.
I miss you dearly, but it looks like you're having a wonderful time!
Hi Sweetie! Those are really nice pictures! We'll definitely have to go to downtown Brisbane; it looks really pretty. I hope you have a great day today; I can't wait to talk to you!

Those Photos are Amazing! Those are really gorgeous photos, Sweetie! I can't wait to be down there walking with you, seeing all of the birds and scenery together!
hi! Em, it sounds like you have a busy week, but that it is more spread out than before and that you're enjoying the classes so far. That religion one sounds interesting. Hope you have a great rest of the week and that you get to do everything you want to over the weekend.
I'm not sure about the ornithologists... I'm sure it must matter what colors you can't see as well. Perhaps the red/pink people prefer differently colored birds (or at least different habitats for them?) than the green/browns? I'll have to ask my ornithologist friends back at Muhlenberg...
the naturalists's eye I'm so blind without my glasses that if I were in the shower and saw something move, I'd write it off to perceptual error.
Thinking of the parrots, I wonder if color-blind ornithologists (there must be some out there) prefer to study big species with high-contrast plumage or little birds that are monochrome brown.
Hi Sweetie! Emmy!
I'm glad your first day of classes went well! I'm glad you're finally able to get on the web, but I hope they can give you back some of those megabytes. I can't wait to talk to you soon!
I'm abroad this semester at the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia.
Stay on top of my scholastic adventures and wild wanderings!

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!
