Commuted most of Saturday (Nov-21) from Seoul to Daegu and looked for accommodations in the afternoon. After sundown I cruised downtown via one of the two subway lines in the city. Stepped out of Jungang Intersection subway stop out to the rainbow neon and fluorescent lit streets teamed with schools of shoppers. Yasigolmok. Apparently, as third largest city in S.K., Daegu is known for good and cheap shopping. Like K-Town in NY, multi-storied building stacked restaurants, coffee shops, internet cafes, above the retail stores. Below the streets the shopping continues, stretching for multiple subway stations. Imaging underground plaza of Rockefeller Center extended to 42nd street and instead of the expansive space it’s filled with narrow walkways and retail vendors squeezed into every nook and cranny.
