Bicycles I asked the students here and in general the consensus seems to be that Dalian has too many hills for bicycles. Then again with the number of cars and trucks on the roads I would not want to be on a bicycle.
Vietnam is a surprise! I did not realize Vietnam would be so interesting and beautiful. I can understand why you wanted to spend more time there, especially among those islands and caves in Halong Bay. Those were so fascinating! I would love to see them.
awesome! I really enjoyed reading about the flavor of the country, hearing about the scenery and the history. It sounds like a nice place. It's too bad you couldn't do everything. - dad
Very interesting Glad to see you've updated your blog. Hope others check it out too. We didn't realize that you traveled over to the west coast of Cambodia till seeing your map. Guess that was Shakorville. Your photos are fantastic! Thanks for educating your parental units. We don't know much about this part of the world - learning a lot. Be well and enjoy your adventure.
I love that you try to travel ethically by not using government-owned means of transportation. I guess the problems with the sanctions (as in Iraq before the war, as in Sudan if we had the guts to do something about it) is that the people start feeling the effect of them long before it even registers with the government.
Kailasanatha sounds like an amazing work of architecture. I had no idea such a thing existed. Please keep making us travel vicariously through you. We got your card at the house by the way, thank you.
Wow! Terrific experiences you're having. We really got an education about Myanmar and know that's only a tiny part of what you've been learning. Love your shots - the one of the sunset from the top of the pagoda is fantastic. Chris read your blog too. Hope you get some more comments on it. We gave the address to Uncle Wendell and Aunt Bonnie and a few others.
Fantastic! Those cliff and cave carvings are really impressive. Seems like they showed one of those in a movie once. The beach looks nice - sounds nice too. I like the shots of the towns too.
Fascinationg! I am glad Dad checked this. We had tried the site before you had started writing it. Your description of the crowded city of Delhi answered a lot of my questions. Thanks for doing this it is really helping us get a picture of where you are. Take care!! Write more soon.
I recently moved to China. I will be here for about a year, then who knows.
Eventually I hope to travel down the west side of Africa from the north to the south. If I don't wimp out, I'll go by bicycle.
