Are you SURE you are in NZ? Hey Jack and Nahid!
Are you SURE you are in NZ? ...the photos I just saw gray, raining, flooding in spite of “no forecast flooding” look like you could have been visiting your sons in the Seattle-Tacoma No-Flood plain. Do a quick check. Do the toilets really swirl the wrong way when flushed? It’s that old navigator proof, Jack Coreolis* Effect. *or something phonetically like thatword not in my spell-check. However, I’m not that good at recognizing rain anymore living here in the Great Chihuahuan Desert of Southern New Mexico. Other than a mist six days ago, I haven’t seen rain here since oh, late October.
Unless it rained while we were gone in late Nov-early Dec to the Ho Rain Forest, Seattle, Victoria, B.C. They talked a little funny there too and it rained a lot---I thought I could have been in New Zealand too, but the water did swirl to the right. Right?
Anyway, it sounds like it’s a worthwhile trip and stay. I appreciate the tip about your blog; thanks for sharing!! Hope your mother’s doing well. Enjoy the sons’ visit. Remember to take snorkels along on the long hikes especially if flooding in not predicted. I never saw skies like that my times in Australia.
Best wishes Down-Under,
Border-Bob Las Cruces, New Mexico
TOO FUNNY What a great entry! I was laughing out loud and was crying I was laughing so hard. I went by to pick up the mail the other day and saw the checks there but had not had time to read the blog. I figured somehow in all the chaos you had managed to return home and spend a night. I am not sure if you picked up what you need, but I will get it to the house by the 22nd so Mark can bring it with him.... Cheers and Blessings! Susan
Didn't ask the butterfly about his itinerary, so I can't comment...didn't get any other tickets from UAL...didn't really need them, got what we really wanted out o' them. Our sons come in next monday...we are excited at the prospect!!!

Way cool Hey Dr. Jack and Nahid, Sounds like you had quite an experience (positive) with the airline industry. That is good. Did they give you free tickets too? They usually do.
All is well in Denver, it is very dry and they are calling for some extreme fire danger in places.
Our son and his wife were here from NJ last weekend and took them to the Butterfly Pavilion and the Denver Zoo. Love the picture of the monarch you have in this journal. Was it just migrating through NZ?
Good to hear from you and hope your mom is doing better. What a scare. Will keep her in prayer. Take care and look forward to the next entry in your saga.
God Bless you both. J/R

We'll be in Te Anau soon! Hi Jack and Nahid, We arrive in TeAnau Wed. Feb. 11 for a 5 day "tramp" of the Milford track followed by some kayaking, two days in Queenstown and then to the North Island. We will call you but unfortunately will not be near Timaru. Your photos look great! Deb Parsons and Dave Downs
Of Course! we're here for another 5 months...enough time to save your pennies. Do you think they will notice you are not at the hospital?? Will any one really miss an intern??... Love, nahid
"newly weds" I feel like a 'newly wed'... starting out in this tiny flat and not having all the accumulated junk from years of living in one place!! love, nahid
unforgotten Matt, it is wonderful to feel 'unforgotten' while we are at the other end of the world!! If you want to know when we post new pics/info you can subscribe, then you will get an email.
It is lovely and very quaint here. Love the ocean and fresh sea food! Blessing to you and Krista! Nahid
What a beginning to your adventure! WOW! What a beginning to your adventure! Sounds like it wasn't exactly like you had hoped and planned, but you made it this far! Hopefully, you will soon become more accustomed to the windshield wipers and the left lane! How funny that the GPS is in Japenese. Looked like a beautiful hotel stay! Enjoy your new house, it looks small (compared to your CO house) but cozy.
