I graduated from the University of Manchester, UK, in 2005 having completed a 3 year Law degree. I had a great time being a student, but it made me realise that there is more to life than becoming a professional... so I thought a year off after Uni would be an ideal time to see a bit of the world, before I had to grow up and get a proper job! I had an amazing time thanks to many of the amazing people I met along the way.
There came a time, when professional studies were over, I HAD to get a proper job. This was fun, but only for 18months or so... before I set off on another adventure to West Africa to carry out a volunteer project working at the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative in Accra, Ghana.
After another 10 month stint at work, I decided that a career in law was not right for me (at this time) and further, that I was missing my spiritual home in the North! So, I relocated back to Manchester, from London, and returned to University where I am now studying a MA in International Development. My programme concentrates specifically on conflict and reconstruction. With this in mind, I set out on my most recent trip to Israel and the West Bank to provide a pair of helping hands to two organisations based in Bethlehem.
I love to travel and feel very privileged to be able to experience new places, people and cultures. I hope that you all enjoy the blogs and they provide helpful information/an entertaining read/inspiration to you all.
