Really enjoying Japan so far. Delicious food everywhere, and not too expensive. Glad we bought the rail pass and booked the hotels before we left though, so it feels like we're not spending our entire savings on one country - which we might be! :-S We've enjoyed Ramen (noodle soup)mostly so far, some fresh fish cakes.No sushi or yakitori yet, but there is still time! So far, we've spent 4 nights in a business hotel in Tokyo and about to spend a night in Kamakura in a guesthouse - futon on the floor that we have to make up ourselves, shoes have to be left at the door and bamboo screens divide the rooms.
