Another day at Nakornping Hospital, I was thrilled to be able to visit the OR as I find it interesting and fun to experience the anatomical/ surgical potential. When offered the opportunity to go today, I was very quick and assertive in volunteering as I was eager to see a Thai operating room. Seven of us went and we had to change out of our Messiah uniforms to the hospitals’ gowns and . . . sandals! In the operating room I wore normal scrubs, a hair cover, a face mask, and sandals, which were an odd combination for me. When I think sterility and protecting ourselves from pathogens and spills, I would think most people would avoid open toe shoes at all costs.
