Josh and Astrid remained poolside while the girls and I headed into Patong, the major beach area in Phuket. I now know why they say that our beach (Kata) is a “quiet” one. Everything is relative. Patong was crowded. It was difficult just crossing the street which was filled with a continuous stream of cars, trucks, motor cycles, scooters, bicycles and the like. We did locate Starbucks and had an excellent lunch and coffee. It is amazing how Starbucks in each country is able to produce a near identical experience. I do like a good latte. We wandered around town. I was saying to Avery that I wished I had a sign that said: “No, I don’t want a suit, or a massage or a Tuk Tuk”. In this area, the hawkers are in your face
