Short? I enjoyed... although I found it a bit short for summing up 16 hours of training. Love you descriptions bren... some of those words i had to look up *blush*
How amazing ! I read your writings from time to time. It doesn't like a real world. but I think there is so much different culture on the earth. I'm fond of travel like you. so I envy you and Jessie. Take care..... (some of your students are missing you such as Amy in G4, Andy in C2..)
SPRITE MOBILE was the best you could do??? It would be interesting to add up all the hours that you have actually spent either on a BUS, TRAIN, BOAT, CAR, FLAT-BED TRUCK, SCOOTER, TUK-TUK, FERRY or any other method of what S.E. Asians might describe as "transportation" including PLANE and SPRITE MOBILE. I bet it would add up to more than 5 years of commuting from Orleans or Barrhaven, into Ottawa's city core!
ENJOY your last 4 days in Bangkok (for this year) and see you at Ottawa International Tuesday night!!
Lessons learned through others Those stories, among thousands of countless others, are pretty scary....and when they happen to others...they at least provide you and Jessica with important lessons with respect to your own safety.
Trek on!

Eating Skunk... Hopefully, you weren't involved in changing any of those tires!!! Your "really roughing it" part of your journey will soon be over and you will be back among the Thai people once again. The North, I am sure is not as "Metropolitan" as the other parts of Thailand that you have already visited...but I am sure it is beautiful.
Take care and keep safe.

What a ride!!! The events here make us all wish we were there to experience them as well.....except .....the border....
You are doing a marvelous job as the designated "detail" scribe!! Waiting for the next entry.
Life in Cambodia is certainly exciting Certainly sounds like a distinct way of life in this country, so unlike the relaxing beaches back in Thailand.....you will need a vacation just to recover from your current experiences for sure!
Ang will certainly thrive in his country..... Ang sounds like someone whom you wish could be taken out of that environment and brought home to Canada.....to at least represent the thousands you didn't meet in the same situation. Your experiences with him will no doubt stay with you forever. You don't experience that profound human connection in your life every day and you are lucky to have met him.
Crickets and grasshoppers.......... Other than wanting to desperately take a shower, with the feeling of crickets and grasshoppers crawling all over me, your latest entry to your journal certainly helped us visualize your most recent episodes and I still continue to love that sense of humour!

Blog Junkies.... What do you mean, "wasted the rest of my evening writing this blog"??!! We LIVE for your blog postings.....NOTHING gets done back here in Russell while WAITING for your next entry.... checking numerous times/day to see if we received our new blog announcement email!!! Never mind the creature-filled jungle treks, the snorkeling amoung remarkably gorgeous marine life, meeting the odd but interesting locals or enjoying the perilous adventures with your modes of transportation choices between destinations. Just give us BLOG!!
I can't stop laughing! Thank you for the extreme detail...and all the humour you use to describe it all :>) I LMAO every time I read something you've written. Makes me wish I was there with you both. Sounds like Thailand is amazing and I can't wait to hear more about all future dstinations.

Quite the beginning...... We were sweating here in Canada as well while reading your blog.....half from imagining the heat and humidity....and half from some of your descriptive phrases. :>)
"an older thai gentleman offered us a free ride to the bus terminal for Chumphon. HE seemed friendly so we obliged"....the possible ending to that free ride ALSO made us sweat... :>)
Foreign Food Critic By all accounts to get THAT MUCH detail, you must be either habitually hanging out with Korean chefs in the local bars....OR.... infiltrating Korean restaurant kitchens under the guise of a foreign Food Critic for the Martha Stuart Living magazine. In any even, greatly enjoyed your humerous account of the food experience over there!!!
Keep it coming!

Thanking god This reminds me to be thankful to receive a brand new preschool, to be able to shape them myself instead having some other foreign f@#* them up and then have them handed to you... good luck with your last 3 weeks baby... I'll be praying for you at 1pm everyday baby;)
I am still L M A O !!!! I still can't stop laughing at your written work!!! I have forgotten about that special, unique sense of humour you have, Brendan....soooooo looking forward to your humourous descriptions of your adventures with "older" humans....monkeys....or whatever you happen to encounter. Keep SAFE!
