August 2009, my husband accepted a new job, so we moved from Paris, France to Les Trois-ilets, Martinique. Martinique is an island located in the eastern Caribbean Sea, with a land area of 1,128 km2 (436 sq mi). It has been 2 and 1/2 years that we are residing here (with only a year and half left before moving to another city/country), and even though it's a small island, with tourists who are mostly elderly French, still there are tons of things that we still haven't discovered.

Since, I love food and prefer to spend time tasting and reviewing restaurants, and was lucky to discover some awesome places. My favorite restaurant to sample balaou fish is called Fruit de la Patience: Avenue Robert Deloy - Grande Anse in Les Anses-d'Arlet city. Tel: 05 96 48 33 47. The restaurant is front of the beach and has 2 -3 tables outside where you can swim or sun tan while waiting for you dishes to arrive. I recommend going there on Saturdays, because Sundays are fully packed and you might have to up wait up to an hour for your food to arrive.

Why did I call Martinique, the island of rainbows? It's because that is what I see at least once a week, even during the dry month. If you are lucky, you will get to see rainbows appear several times while you are swimming in the sea.
