The drawback to such diversity is an overpowering sense of claustrophobia. Personal bubble space is significantly diminished, resulting in a psychological deafening of fight or flight responses to local signs of life. No creature is quite as unnatural as the big city dweller. Dreams of wide open city, with parks that haven't been designed and mountains so close they affect the sunrise. Sounds almost fictitious. A month or two on the road should clear the lens.
