Hey, I know what you mean about how amazing the pub is with the church - I have been working there for a few months. It is fantastic, an amazing combination of such old and new architecture. It is really great at around 7am in the morning - there is noone else there but a few staff and the sun comes shining in the skylight and bounces off the stone and mirrors. Except it is only 3 stories, not 4.
Brits dressing for the clubs Ain't it a riot to see them dressed up like that? I told you about the country bar in Glasgow. If you have a free night in Glasgow, GO TO A COUNTRY BAR! They, no shit, wear plastic guns and chaps and big ass "10 gallon" hats. It's a fucking riot.
grefriars bobby pub Mark and I went there on the 'moon. As I recall, one of the best steak and 'shroom pies I've ever had. Also ammused the bartender by drunkenly taking artistic photographs of the Tennants Velvet tap pull.
rainbow bus I forgot to tell you about the rainbow busses.... no one bet the Americans on our Trafalgar tour got all the gay references.....
Did they ask you to refrain from pooping on the bus? They informed us that the potties on the bus were for #1 only. Mark was SO tempted.....
truck stops Yep, the truck stops out there are awesome. You can find some cool shit there.
Make sure to eat a bunch of Cadbury Dairy Milk, the Flake bar in particular (I hear the snowflakes are good too, but I like the original, especially when poking out the top of an ice cream cone). I introduced my tour buddies to the Cadbury Dairy Milk, and we were all in agreement-- it's by far the best chocolate in the world (until you get to Ireland where the Dairy Milk is even better-- had to do with the milk fat, I think).
Remember-- in Scotland, crink TENNANTS VELVET. And in Ireland-- KILLKENNY.

Sounds like fun I get the impression that you are having a really good time. I also get the impression that you are drinking more than eating - a little coffee may help you get over the "lag". Keep having fun.
Loving your comments !! Hi Jim: We can so relate to a lot of your comments after our Boston "tour" where the guide lost half of the group, and never DID find them. They eventually hooked up with another tour group from the same ship and the tour guide received a reprimand, I am sure !
You mention the crowds and the hectic pace of said crowds. I think you have become a true Texan !! San Francisco is the same way !! You will get used to it !
Have a great time and toss down a Guiness or two for us !
Love, Helen
Green with envy Oh, man, I'm so jealous! You must write in explicit detail, for now I'll be living through you! No pressure, though. Ha! Have a great time and please do a pub crawl for me.
