i very much like porto I very much like porto and the north of portugal.
Women in Braga are very beautifull.
And you know what ?
Years ago I showed a russian online acquaitance traditional clothes of Braga women...,and ( believe it or not ) she commented they looked like russian clothes.
Some people in the north came from northern europe centuries ago.
In a fruit shop in porto there were 4 employees , 2 portuguese and 2 russians and one could not figure out who was portuguese and who was russian.
People in the south is more arabic.
great post great post indeed. Very well written and with lots of interesting information. I hope you enjoy your stay in Portugal. I am portuguese myself, I live in lisbon. I very much like the north of portugal.., Braga..., Viana do Castelo . It is almost a diferent country compared with the south. People in Porto sometimes call the southern fellows as moors , a reference to the muslim invasion in 711. Southerns are moorish at the eyes of the northerners

TallShipsFriend Hi Mary--I'm glad I was at TallShips Wednesday when Michelle was able to get your "blog"--I have just read it and it is fascinating. Sounds like you are having a great time. You have missed some cold weather here--cold rain this morning, but some sun this afternoon. Hope I can continue to read your entries--they are wonderful. Take care.

Hello Mary! Hi Mary -
Gina sent me a link to your blog - sounds like an awesome adventure. Would love to see you when you return, we are in Seattle now, gave up on DC and the beltway at least for now. Drop me a line when you return, and enjoy your amazing trip. Ann
What a Nightmare! Sounds like a horrible way to spend 13 hours! I always carry lots of snacks on the airplane - if I'm gonna get stuck, I'm gonna eat! Kris
Things to do in Lisbon Yes, there is much more to Lisbon than what comes on the guidebooks. It is a good idea to get off the beaten path and explore more of the city. I especially like the "unofficial" viewpoints and some of less popular museums such as the Tile Museum. My favorite museum is the Ancient Art Museum, which gets overlooked for the Gulbenkian.
The www.golisbon.com site is the best online source for Lisbon, covering the entire city.
buen dia! A fella could get used to this format, hearing firsthand where you are and how things are progressing!
Glad to made it to Portugal, looking forward to much more.
I was in Portugal with a friend for six weeks earlier this year. We loved it so much we're coming back for three months starting January 3, 2008. Particularly enjoyed the Algarve and plan to spend five weeks there in 2008. Will spend three weeks on Madeira, a week near Lisboa, and the rest of the time exploring northern Portugal.... full info
