The article "Protecting Children From Raw 9/11 Memories", by Julie Scelfo, gives a brief description of how she remembers the disturbing memories of the 9/11 attack. She believes by not telling her children anything of the attacks it will protect thier childhood. This relates to our class because it's important to remember what happened to the lives that were lost in the 9/11 attack. I identify social structures as the theme in this article because the author tries to protect her children from watching the news. The author's children don't know anything about the messages she recieves from different collegues to remember all the lives that were lost. I, personally, do not agree with the author keeping those memories from her children. I believe every U.S. citizen should have some knowledge about what happened during 9/11.
