Cooper 416 Owner's Association Fergus,
Thanks for your comment. You may be interested in a little website I made for Cooper owners. You will find it at http://cooper416.250free.com. Take a look. Send me some text and photos about you and your boat. It's free.

David
Cooper in Mexico Great to see the photos around Mexico. I especially like seeing the Cooper, which I also just acquired, out actively cruising. How does she handle in the open ocean? I have not had the privelege yet, but have heard that it is a very sturdy boat that heals very little even in heavy airs.
From an office desk on Vancouver Island , dreaming of being where you are...
yours truly,
Fergus
Have A Safe & Fun Trip David,
Dani and I hope to have a great trip back up north. It's quite a slog but I'm sure you're used to that by now. Best of luck,

San Carlos Be sure to try out the Palapa Restaurant down on the beach, just north of town kind of across the street from Marina Seca. It's a beautiful venue and the food is wonderful. Marina Cantina is great for deli sandwiches. We love S.C. Hope you guys do too. We'll see you around the beginning of November when we arrive to splash Rosebud.

Interested in Ansa and Echo back story... David and Mike-
I just happened upon your blog and was able to pick it up from where you left marina del Rey and read it all the way through to La Paz. I really enjoyed it. I am very interested in knowing more about David and Mike, who they are, how they decided to take off on this expedition, how they planned it, where to next (I saw a reference to Panama) and any other background. I can't seem to get any blog before the Marina Del Rey to avalon entry so I don't have much context to your staory. I am hoping to retire in a couple of years (at 60) and my hope is to do a similar trip, from San Diego to La Paz and perhaps beyond. I have travelled the Baja Pennisula for 25 years and but only have sailed down to Ensenada (about as much as my former 26' trailerable sailboat would handle) but I have always dreamed of getting an adequate boat and sailing all the way down.
Thanks very much for sharing your adventure. I hope you can direct me to some more info on you as adventurers and your other adventurers as well.

Taking time in Paradise Time was a problem with the Baha Ha Ha, It should have taken a month or two to get to La Paz. Too many wonderful places were skipped over. I'll have to do it again with no schedule. Sounds like you all are doing it right.
I'm watching! Hi Dave,
I thought I'd let you know that I am faithfully reading your blog. It sounds like the perfect adventure! I saw some of what you saw but not nearly as much. I am envious, to say the least. I hope you guys are having the time of your life. I can't wait for the next series! Please do keep in touch.--Terry
You're on your way! Hi, guys,
Looks like you are finally on your way! I keep checking the blog hoping to hear about you and will keep doing that. Enjoy the trip down. And drop me a line when you have the chance. Fondly, Terry
The bright side Dear Dave:
I can understand how hard it must have been to watch the race leave without you. However, they tell fortunate you are that you caught your tank problem in San Diego. You could've run out of fuel and washed up on Sacramento reef. Several boats have been lost on this reef. You're in a place where you speak the language fluently and can give the people accurate directions as they repair or rebuild your tank. What will you have to do to get this tank out? What kind of time frame is the repair going to take? What is this going to do dear sailing schedule? This is a very sophisticated blog. Did you develop this entire thing? If you did I'm impressed. Hope the repairs are going smoothly and will be too expensive. I hope you're going to make the tank out of stainless steel. Remember, you can not make it out of galvanized steel. The diesel oil will react with the zinc. The other choice is just black iron. But I'm sure you know this.
Bob
Big Hug! Enjoyed the read so far and am very happy that you guys are going for a sail. Be safe and I'll be looking forward to your installments - Love, Carolina in landlocked Las Vegas
