Yesterday morning when I arrived in Sydney I was informed my baggage had been misplaced. I had been assured in Barcelona by a member of staff for British Airways that my baggage would definitely make it onto the plane and not to be concerned (I didn't think they had provided themselves with enough time to get the luggage on the plane). I waited at the area for luggage pick up, where after a while of waiting realised the bag had not made it onto the plane. When I checked with a member of staff they were very unhelpful and told me to just keep waiting, even though it was obvious no more bags would arrive.
