Munich here we are!! After a 3.5 hour drive, we have arrived in Munich from Prague. We were pretty tired after the drive, so we decided to have a quite one, which consisted of, finding a beer garden across the road and having a beer and dinner!! Bit of a language barrier, but finding that 'beer' is pretty universal. Today is Tuesday, which means family day at Oktoberfest. Wow, it is like the Melbourne Show on steroids. Rides that must take days to setup, to beer halls, that take weeks. We walked around before finally settling on the Hofbräu Festzelt tent to go into. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy, so we were able to grab a seat straight away. The cheering/egging on people to swig their stein of beer started pretty quickly. Most were successful in ... read more

From Seiffen, 5 minutes down the road and the signage changes, the road condition changes, oh dear, we have entered the Czech Republic..from now on everything has changed, the scenery, the cars, the signs, everything. We twisted and turned for an hour through back roads to find our way back to the motorway. Once in Prague, it was amazing. This place has some history, the buildings are incredible, we got to our accomodation, we were greeted by the owner who had a car park out the front ready for us. It was a B&B but had about 6 rooms, stunning place & great hosts. There was a street market (once a year thing) in the street over so once settled we wandered down to check it out. Food, beer, wine, food, beer, it had it all. ... read more

Hi Guys, It has been a week since our last update, quite slack, but we are on holidays!!! Also, if there are any spelling mistakes, it is because the keyboards have the letters in different places here = very confused Amanda & Andrew. We wanted to backtrack a little with our last update, as we forgot to mention an awesome Greek Pizza Restaurant we went to in Hambuerg. We were recommended this place by the hotel, one of the best recommendations so far. We ordered this donor kebab platter for two (so we could try everything). Before we even got the meal, the owner gave us a shot of Uzo each (warm tummy from that). Then came the food, oh my! The platter was huge, plus you get salad, fries, rice & bread. It was delicious. ... read more

Tuesday Evening, where has the time gone already!! It is 7pm here, so around 3am Melbourne time. It is a strange feeling, knowing that you guys are all asleep and we have just had dinner. We are having a quiet night in tonight. We have managed to find an apartment to stay in, in Berlin. It has 5 rooms (Lounge, Foyer, Bathroom, Kitchen & Bedroom) for about $140 a night and it is really nice. The bathroom has floor heating, so feet are nice and warm when you get out of the shower! Went and bought some food/drink from Aldi and cooked some pasta tonight, first meal that we have been able to make ourselves, since we left home. It was a nice, simple meal which was good. From our last blog, we have been through ... read more

Sorry about the delay in updates, feels like we have been time travelling! We finished up in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday with a 40 degree day bidding us goodbye! It was an interesting place to visit and see, but feel as though we have been there and done that now. We left Abu Dhabi around 1:30pm and 7 hours later arrived at Heathrow. We had our first look at the London Police on the plane before we even got off. We had a guy with wandering hands on our plane during the flight. The poor woman he decided to feel up was pretty upset (understandably), so they moved him to another seat during the flight and then the police came on and escorted him off the plane when we landed. (added an extra 30 mins to ... read more

After a final cuddle from Mav Jnr. we were on our way through 'the doors' into international land. A smooth 14hr flight, albeit slightly cramped from cattle class, we arrived. First stop, Abu Dhabi. Hot, sandy & lots of pollution in the air. Come night time and the city lights up, no power conservation going on here! Staying at the Sofitel on the coast of Abu Dhabi, spectacular hotel, no cash spared in this place! Visited the Sheikh Zaved Grand Mosque, wow. These guys don't muck about, extravagant, marble & gold everywhere. $500 million budget when they built this place! Drivers are nuts and the money spent on cars here is unbelievable! Porsches, Land Cruisers, V8 Nissan Patrols and the odd Toyota Corolla. All the staff at the hotels/shops seem to be from everywhere else in ... read more
