We're moving out to the village today, to stay on different farms and for them to finish off the job they've been doing. We'll be there til the end of the month and then head off to Columbia together.
great photos! Enjoyed them very much. It looks a unique and interesting place to travel with Ali and Steve. You are lucky to be retired and able to see your children at work and play. So much fun for you....
Good place to be when it’s 6 degrees at home Seems you’ve landed in a lovely spot. How long will you be staying there?
Best to Ali and Steve.

Nice trip I continue to be envious of your travels. My biggest adventure this year wa a one day trip to Tangier Island, VA, population about 500. It is a pretty nice little island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay.

Great blogs! Dear Erratic, I've just discovered your blogs this morning and have enjoyed reading several of them. Thank you for sharing your stories. MJ
Fairly off the mark Yours must be a particularly jaundiced eye as Bihar has a cell phone penetration at par with the rest of India and is at 35% of the population. Patna, the state capital, has over 100%. Before you make such patronising comment that your used plates are the only full dinner those poor women would have, please note, there are no starvation deaths in Bihar; nor are there suicides due to indebtedness as in several other parts. But why should I bother to counter you when even cows (or is that a buffalo) appear emaciated to you if from Bihar? Just for your info, Patna Dairy Project which is working at several districts of Bihar, is one of the most successful co operative movements of India and sells milk and milk product under the name Sudha which you can buy at several places including Varanasi.
fascinating I like to do this too...always find the best and cheapest listings on craigslist....and stay in flats or apts rather than hotels when we travel....i so want to go to argentina someday...you are lucky that you are retired now, with some income to travel....i am visioning that for myself and sooner than later
buddhist pilgrimage we followed the foot steps of lord buddha from Lumbini to Kusinara in February 2010 on the maha parinirvana express. It was an unbelieable journey. a great pilgrimage which we will never forget. the photographs brought it all back. As lord buddha had preached in the maha parinibbana sutta every buddhist should endevour to make this pilgrimage in this lfe time. not only buddhists the buddhagaya pilgrimage is popular with most tourists.
Kacak Dance What lovely pics - makes me want to go back.
Last year, we stopped by Bali on the way to Flores to see some Komodo dragons. While in Bali, we went to a temple by the seaside and watched the most amazing acapella dance based on one of the episodes in the Ramayana. It was held at sunset, there was a 'bonfire' in the middle of the open air dance area and a cool breeze blowing. Even a year later, as I am writing this, I can hear the chanting...
Thanks for sharing some pics It was pure luck today that I found your entry....guess I should be more diligent about reading my e-mails. Thanks for sharing the pictures of your trip to Bali. They remind me that Bali is in Asia and temples in Asia always look old and worn.....and that the natural beauty is outside the city.
Reply to Ali! Glad you found the photos interesting. Argentina is in the pipeline, but there are no photos of Uruguay. Remember I had my camera pinched?
Amazing photos! I love that the travel blog is continuing with your trips made from your Australian home base. These photos are incredible.
I´m also waiting for the Argentinian and Uruguayan instalments.
