Our trip to Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to take 10 hours flying time. This is 3 hours longer than on the same return journey. We think it is because on our way there we will be flying against the prevailing winds, whereas on the way back we will have them pushing along behind us. On our last trip we reached ground speeds of over 1,000km per hour on the return journey. Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. It was founded as a tin mining settlement at the junction of two rivers. It is a thriving and modern city now, but we won't get to see any of it, as we will be arriving in the middle of the night.
