...! What an absolutely fabulous blog entry! That's so awesome that you got to do fresco and that your brother is coming to visit you. It will be nice to have someone from home with you for a little bit! And, how absolutely hilarious and awesome is it that you went to a "discoteca"! The night life if WAY better in Europe in general! Always anticipating to hear more, and I especially cannot wait to see you when you get back, you're going to be so worldly! Who would have thought an intelligent but somewhat naive girl from Sutton-fricken-Massachusetts would experience so much "stuff" in comparison to her peers...? I had a hunch you would =]
rf freakin awesome to read..... i feel like i'll have no chance with european girls because I am considered laid back in the U.S as far as chasing girls go.....in Italy, my game will suffer heartily.
SKULL Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull. Buy a skull.

San Gimignano LOVE LOVE LOVE San Gimignano! The gelato place you talked about, we went there too! And if you are talking about the garden at the top of the hill with little a stone wall around it, we went there too!! So beautiful!! Miss Italy so much! Soak in EVERY minute!!
Love you! xoxoxo
=) I'm so happy your sleeping well now and becoming better adjusted to the Italian life style. I love reading your blogs =) We need to video chat. I love you!!!
aw! Lyssy,
THIS SOUNDS AMAZING!
and horrifying, and amazing, too.
I miss you so much! I can't wait to skype you again, if that ever becomes a possibility ever ever again haha. Your whole blog makes me want to go to Italy, and your pictures are unreal. Honest to goodness you should be a professional photographer.
I open my fb chat when I go online to search for your name, and I still haven't found it since the last time we talked which was two forevers ago, but I'm still at it, and I hope we can do that again, stat.
Love you! I love you so, so much
You go girl! I am SOOOOO proud of you for marching up to that hunk of meat and asking for his digits! And he better call you or I will haul my cookies all the way to Italy and make sure he does! :)Hmmmm.....that would be fun!
Seriously though-have you thought of carying pepper spray? Might be a REALLY good idea. Also, can you translate some of your Italian dialogue to English for us (in parenthesis LOL) so we can understand what conversations are going down?
You are an incredible writer-and I could totally see this blog becoming a book someday....
Love you so much-I wish I could hug you through the computer-I know what you are going through sweetie. xoxoxo
Love,
Sarah
Mama Mia Italy Italy! I absolutely love reading your blog, Alyssa. It has seriously become like an anticipated event, such as a sitcom... only it's real, I know you, and I absolutely adore you! It seems such a strange balance of frustration and adventure for you. I'm glad that you are going out and doing things, no matter the outcome, you definitely will always have a story to tell. It's wonderful to live vicariously through this blog, and see you growing as an even more magnificent person than you already are! Can't wait to see what's next!
Love your best friend, Scotty =]
Alyssssssaaaaaa!!!!! You are hysterical! I think you need to be a novelist-seriously, you are incredible! Not that I didn't already know that...:) I am so glad to hear about your adventures and experiences! So, with the dream/ghost experience...was it a dream or was it real? Freaky! It must be weird to see all the younger kids out drinking like they do-especially as you now have hit the big 2-1 and can come back home and have a drink out and about etc.
Soak it all in and have the time of your life! Oh, are you allowed to carry mace? That might come in handy if some old Italian guy wants to 'buy you pizza' again.
LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
YES! Alyssa, I'm so happy to hear. I agree with Asia about using the bathroom as an escape (just be careful of soupy poopies, etc that may be lingering).
I'm thrilled, though unsurprised, that you're so motivated to succeed with Italian. I'm really happy you seem to be using your misgivings as motivation.
Love you and can't wait to talk to you soon!
Stepherss
I Love you! I will only make a very short comment due to my exhaustion. I promise to write more tomorrow!
I was so incredibly happy to hear from you...at least something. I have been very worried and at the same time telling myself you were having very many unique experiences and you would be fine! I love your blog and your writing, as always. 'Til tomorrow....... May tomorrow, be a perfect day. May you find love and laughter along the way. May God keep you in his tender care, 'til he brings us together again. Good Night, pumpkin, I love you! xoxoxo
You made it! Hi Lyss...we have all been dying to hear how your travels went. So glad to hear you made it safe and sound. I can understand your feelings of being overwhelmed. It's sensonry overload! Between the sleep deprivation, culture shock, language barrier and so many wonderouse new things to look at, the brain simply can't process quickly enough. Savor every moment! In a blink of an eye you'll be an old pro and then it will be time to come home. I am so excited about your opportunity to have this experience. We'll miss you while you're gone, but will follow your adventures with excitement.
Keep us updated and be safe.
Love you...Anne
=) I am so happy you have a nice host family. I was thinking about you everyday this week, "what if the family is mean? What if she hates them and is stuck for the next few months with no way out!?"" lol. But, then I thought that the family probably wouldn't sign up to take in an American if they're not nice people. So.. I am so happy for you. Take the Italian one hour at a time. If you get overwhelmed go to the bathroom, and speak English to yourself and then go back. Maybe that will help.
I love you, and I look forward to your future blogs =)
Love, Asia
I am studying in Siena, Italy for the Fall of 2010. I live with a host family and go to school at the SSLA Monday-Friday. As I'm writing this, I am only four days into my adventure, so there is much more to come.
Enjoy the blog and pictures, and please do not hesitate to leave me messages! It is comforting to hear from home.... full info
