Hi!!! So glad to get another update! I loved reading about the time with your host family-- remember when that was the part of the itinerary I read and thought you were crazy?! Haha-- it sounds awesome though that they are so happy to have you there and gave you clothes to wear for the dance. You know me though, I would never let anyone separate me from people I was with and probably would have complained so much about all the hiking. Oy. And I don't wanna change that to Joy. Haha. I miss you sooo much and can't wait to see all the pictures--- and the painting you bought! Anyway, Alyssa-- we're going to get that cat today! Dave and I are going to go and make sure she's the right fit for us and Lola and adopt her if it turns out that we think it'll work. I'll let you know how it goes! :) Caitlyn

We miss you!
I love these blogs--I always look forward to them. Your descriptions are wonderful and I picture in my mind what it's like--without the smells, of course! ;-) You will both be so learned regarding the culture of each place you visit. I like that you are going into smaller, non-touristy towns. That is where you get the true "flavor" of a place--not just the food--the customs--the day-to-day living of the people. I would have loved to be with you at the artisan's market. Oh, and the party-dance. I hope you both took pictures of what you looked like in the traditional dress! With all that climbing, you guys must have lost weight and gotten into really good shape--not that you needed all that exercise--you're both perfect! Please know that I think of and pray for you often and I look forward to being in your company very soon. Happy 4th of July weekend! I love you! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX r

Arica, etc.

we love this blog
Your latest entry came during shelby's graduation dinner. I read it aloud to everyone including my parents. My father, who is an ambitious eater, was grossed out by Alpaca Chow Mein. Shelby wanted to know why you weren't staying in the four seasons. I explained that Alyssa doesn't like luxury (Im sure Jose wouldn't mind the 4 seasons right about now). Keep the blog coming. We all love it. Glad you weren't hurt in the fire. Love you!!

Yay! Another update! I actually laughed out loud about the coco leaves/cocaine and I could just picture you guys ripping through your luggage looking for them and panicking. Haha. I think it's really cool that you get to eat a lot of different kinds of food-- and there was a vegetarian place-- yay! I'm glad you are all enjoying it so much-- I can't wait to see pictures! You must be dying to get to the warm places! :) Caitlyn

interesting
I read zach the newest installment and he was rivited. He was particularly concerned about you being head butted by the Ram. It was like reading him a story. I love to hear about your trip. Although I'm a bit concerned that not only did Jose eat Guinea Pig that you condoned it!! Zach thought it was just gross.

Hey guys!! Wow-- you guys had enough adventure in a few days that would be enough for me for a year! Haha! Jose-- how did you feel about the frog worshiping?? That's so weird that Jose got the altitude sickness and you didn't, Alyssa. Actually, I'm not surprised. Haha. I loooove that you guys got to go to a hot spring-- that must have been awesome! Too bad it was stinky, though. I give you a lot of credit for doing all the little extra things like walking an extra 30 minutes to see more-- I bet you'll get some of the most unique experiences by doing that. Well, everything in New Jersey in normal. Haha. Alyssa, I told my mom more about Pearl not trying to push her or anything, but when I told her that she has been in the shelter for over 2 years, her face sank and she got kind of upset, so she said she's willing to go see her in the shelter-- but not for another couple of weeks because we have a lot going on. Do you think the shelter will waive all or some of the adoption fees for us if we tell them we can't really afford it and have been bringing donations? I went to a book signing for Teresa from the Real Housewives of New Jersey yesterday and she signed her new cookbook and took a picture with me! Yay. Haha-- I'll stop boring you with NJ happenings! Update again soon! Love you both! Caitlyn
