Sydney has been fantastic! It is relaxed here and good place to meet people. The blue mountains tour has to be the best one I've been to during the travels. Lot of sightseeing at day time and partying at night! Today is my last day in Sydney and I head up the East coast tomorrow. I have to say that Sydney is hurting my wallet! It's a price shock coming from Thailand. But still a nice place to be. There are some great beaches.... read more

Arrived in Bangkok from Kho Sumai and it felt like things have stepped up a few gears... Actually I had been suffering from throat infection so I had spent some time recovering. I was staying very close to Kho San Road. Full of foreign tourists and bit of a tourist tap but I liked it there. You can get pretty much anything from Driving Licenses to Student cards, all fake of course. On Sunday morning I went to the floating market. We got to the floating marking on one of the boats and later took a small boat around the market. It was really relaxing and fun way to shop. Not that I bought anything... I have been resisting the temptation. There are some wonderful souveniers and the clothes are cheap but I don't want to ... read more

I am now in Koh Sumai waiting for the plane to Bangkok. I have to say it's a nice little open airport! Koh Phangan has been an interesting island. I have take a couple of tours around other islands from here. I do like the warnings giving by the travel agents about these tours, they really lower your expectations but I wasn't disappointed. Nang Yuan Island is really beautiful and I went snorkeling first time. It was really fun and did see some fish amongst with other "things". Now I am tempted to try diving at some point! We also went in a submarine in Koh Tao to have a look at some coral but didn't see much as the windows weren't clear. I got to see more coral in Koh Tao during snorkeling and this ... read more

After KL I was in Penang for two nights visiting Zaffarie. Really helps when you know a local who can show you around! Pengang Island is much bigger than I thought. At least I got time to recover from the over night train journey. Zaffrie and I took took a Rickshaw to a Bar in Penang, which turned out to be quite an interesting ride. The driver was gasping for breath, going really slowly and holding up traffic. Making comments that you two are really big guys! (me, yeah right!). Ofcourse to get more money but the looks we were getting from everyone made it a ride of shame! I am now in Thailand, Koh Phangan. Considering it was a long journey involving train, taxi, bus, boat and taxi my journey to Thialand was uneventful. One ... read more

Arrived yesterday in KL by overnight train. I have been in KL for almost two days and it is similar to Singapore in some ways. A visit to KL wouldn't have been complete without seeing the Petronas towers :) KL has been nice, must better than what I expected. Tomorrow I'm going to Penang and meeting Zaffarie. Looking forward to getting some rest after spending some time in two cities. ... read more

The graduation was really nice and fun! It was in a small hall and there were very few students. We went on the stage one by one and shook hands with the Rector, where he had a very brief chat with us. Good thing he didn't ask me anything about the project or the course during my turn! There was a very good atmosphere at the graduation and at the reception afterwards, with many congratulations. I am glad attended this graduation and the final stage of the course is over. I have been enjoying Singapore, if you're into shopping then this place must be heaven. There are malls in every Metro station I have been to and it's pretty difficult to avoid them. You want to get somewhere, you look up at the map but you ... read more

It's almost been 24 hours since I arrived here. Met Evagelos at the airport and headed towards the hotel. This might be a late reaction but only when I was on the way to hotel I realised that I am here, away for few months and had left my job. Good thing my first stop I am with a friend. Feeling a lot better today, almost over the jetlag and I am enjoying Singapore. Having spend few months in the cold, it's nice to be in the warmth, although pretty humid but not too hot. The city is clean and easy to travel. It's 2 more days to go before the graduation and we have sorted out over gown hire. Looking forward to doing some sightseeing and relaxing in the meanwhile. ... read more

It still can't believe it's finally hear. I am excited but a bit stressed at the moments. Leaving packing at the last moments is never a good idea... Strangely not nervous what lies ahead, I'm sure it will hit me on my way to the airport tomorrow. I had a fantastic leaving do and everyone has been very supportive. It was also my last week at work so many good byes :( After the eventful last two years I am finally graduating. Tomorrow will be two years since my father passed away, later my sister having cancer during the exams and much drama with project marking I am finding it difficult to believe that the whole masters program is finally coming to an end. It's great news that Evagelos will be at the graduation with me ... read more
