A Cocktail Hey Deb. Glad I have entertained you, and taken you away (even if briefly) from the reality of CW. Would love take up your offer of a cocktail at the Marriott. Will be in touch. Cheers, Alison xx
2 October !!! Den, I didn't realise it was the 2nd October you met Tim...... Not to worry I didn't come across any interesting (or not so interesting) men, so I'm safe. Will call you next week when I'm home. Cheers, Ali xx
Caberet Show Hey Sarah, good idea about the Caberet show, though I don't think I will chance it a second time. I can tell you I only just survived the hiking... not really my thing at all. Will be in touch next week when I get home. Cheers, Alison xx
What an incredible trip! Well done - you've done so well. I honestly think if it were myself I would have crashed out on some of those hiking treks (I'm not much into exercising, and that's with a treadmill, a TV and air-conditioning!).
I think you should give that caberet show another go - with about 10 or so drinks under your belt I'd think you'd find it much improved (perhaps comical even?).
Can't wait to see all the photos too...!
Hi Al,
I told you not to fly into Bangkok on the 2nd of October- that was when I met Tim. I can't believe it was the samw date. Anyway, you seem to have survived and I hope you are enjoying your final hours of freedom. Your travels have been very entertaining and I'm glad you survived the earthquake. It will be very strange to be back in Sydney again.
Happy relaxing and raise a couple of vinos for me.
Can't wait to catch up when you het home.
Love, Den XXX
Welcome Back Can't believe the time has gone. What a wonderful trip. Hope you enjoy the last part of the journey relaxing and soaking up the last of the holiday before culture shock of home. Looking forward to a catchup and pics.
Love Kim x
Thanks! Hi Alison
You have done a terrific job of keeping me entertained - so nice to read something nice on emails! And a great distraction from MY reality!! :-)
So, for all your entertainment, you'll have to drop by one evening and I'll shout you a cocktail at our favourite cocktail bar in the Mariott!
Enjoy the rest of your break and we'll see you soon!

update Al - just great to hear about Bhutan, and we were so relieved that you weren't affected by the earthquake, had a few anxious hours thinking about you guys. Sounds just wonderful and can't wait to see pictures. Take care
Merrill
Hi Hey Allie, I have resigned. I finish up here on the 23rd October. I haven't got another job. I'm not worried about it at this present time. Just feel very relieved that its coming to an end after 9 years. I got offered another job yesterday afternoon but it was basically doing the same things so I declined. We are off to Tassy 2nd week in November for 4 days for a Harley Davidson Rally. Then we are off to the Gold Coast on 24/12 to 4/1 in the new caravan and then of course back to Bali on 11 June.
However that might be all good, but I will still have to find a job whether it be part time.
Sounds like you are having a ball. I was disappointed that the Saints lost! Sorry.
Anyway keep the blogs coming, love to you. Collie....xxxx
Bhutan Hi Ali, Bhutan sounds wonderful, even peaceful. It seems apart from the heat in Vietnam, you have been blessed with great weather and some wonderful travels. Makes me want to drop everything and just head off. Enjoy the rest of your adventure. Kimx
Hi Den. Don't worry no Tims in sight. You wouldn't recognise Kathmandu. It is just so much more crowded and busy. Thamel is a heaving tourist mecca. Not the pleasant little oasis it was 15 years ago. Yes, I have been reminising about our Road Trip last year. Ali xx
Hi Deb
Great to hear from you..... I have heard the Centric news. Very sad and I can imagine the mood in not great. Keep your chin up, and just pretend you are with me. Cheers, alison
WOW Hi Darl, so sorry to hear about your accident. Sorry that Lawrie was not there to sort him out. What a complete ars*hole. I felt very bad for you. So glad that you are feeling better. Trip sounds fabulous. Take care darling. xxxx
Hi Al,
It all sounds fab. I'm enjoying your blogs.
Watch out when you get off the plane in Kathmandu as that's where I met Tim- walking across the tarmac to the little terminal!!! That should be a warning to you. Enjoy.
I'm planning on seeing Ann in a couple of weekends. I'm hoping to go to Brooklyn. Can't wait.
This time last year we were just sitting a that wonderful restaurant on the footpath where we both got sloshed. Good times.
Love, DenXXX
Hello! Hi Alison
Oh, your beach paradise sounds just fantastic... we have had some more bad news at Centric - Mike Pillemer has now left Centric. Apparantly they couldn't come to an agreement on his contract renewal....I'm yet to find out the real reason. Then we went to lunch to catch up with Celia, and Zalman announced that he is leaving as well! We won't have any old faces around here at the rate we are going!! Celia is looking really well and is enjoying Brissy, but it still doesn't feel like home yet! Nic is only a few weeks away from having the bub, so that will keep them more than distracted I'm sure!
So, that's again having a bit of a downer impact on the place, yet again. Much more pleasant on the beach, I can tell you!
Serina is back and it sounds like she also had an amazing trip - I'm sure you will hear more about it from her.
Nothing much more to report - just waiting for the total fallout from Mike's departure to hit.....
Better get back to work - I have more reports to write than you can poke a stick at!
Keep enjoying your trip and I hope that it isn't too hot for the next part!
Cheers

Heat Hi Sarah. Thanks for thinking of me..... There was a couple of times I was a bit worried about getting heat stroke, but managed to drink enough water to avoid it. I think the worst of the heat is now over.
Cheers, Alison
Yes It's working Hi Dad
I got this message from Talitha, so I hope you get this one back. Hope you have been able to get into my Blog, so you know what I've been up to.
Everything is going well. Love Alison
Ba Kan Tiang Beach - I'm right there with you! Hi Al - Ba Kan Tiang Beach sounds like bliss! Think if I was there I'd never leave - just my speed! Can't tell you how much we are enjoying travelling with you, it will be wonderful to see your pictures when you get back so that we can see if they are the same as we are "seeing" through your writing. All good in Sydney, spring is in the air, glorious weather. Take care and continue to have fun - Merrill
Paradise So jealous! I'm glad you're out of the heat though - I was a bit worried as I just recently watched an episode of Amazing Race where one of the contestants fainted of heat exhaustion, and I couldn't help but think of you trekking through such extreme heat! Looking forward to the next installment! S.
I'm envious What a fantastic place. How nice and relaxing...You are having the best time...Hope the massage was good, wine sounds good too and so does the beach....Cold and wet here...Enjoy darl...xxxxx
Hello Everyone
Well I'm about to embark on my Asian Odyssey..... and who knows where it will take me!!
I fly out of Sydney on Thursday 6 August to Bangkok, and then head to Laos for 2 weeks. From Vientiane (Laos) I fly to Hanoi (Vietnam) to stay with friends, and while I'm there plan to head up to Sapa in the mountains. I then fly back to Bangkok and onto Krabi in Southern Thailand. From Krabi, I catch a ferry over to the Island of Ko Lanta, where I'll spend a week lazing on the beach. Then back to Bangkok again to meet up with Ann & Janet, before flying onto Kathmandu (Nepal).
