The pictures are just so lovely. Traveling is really something that would make us enjoy after exhausting ourselves with work for long years. This is the excellent reward we can give ourselves once in a while. It is a wonderful thing to do to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life. Fortunately for others who can afford a lot of traveling. For the "unfortunate ones", there's always a way to get what we want and get that dream travel of ours.
I really don't know the name of the state park. Alan went with Marc Adamus on that shoot as it was too dangerous for me to go along. Alan promised Marc that he wouldn't reveal the location and he's honored that commitment. Good luck finding it!
Cauldron question Hi:
I have been trying to find the "Cauldron" on the Oregon coast for a long time. I am a photographer
from Colorado. Could you let me know the name of the state park that it is in?
Thanks,
Allen Karsh
Connie, wish I could help you but I'm unfamiliar with any other goat farms in the area. I don't think this is the one. There was no restaurant and it was not that close to a fjord. Good luck with your search.
goat farm I am looking for a specific farm I stayed at 9 years ago which has a restaurant in a historic barn and rented out 3 or 4 dwellings. Separate little houses (more than hyttas) and the last of them was right on a cliff looking into the fjord. All I can say is that it was half way up the mountain toward Dahlsniba. And there were lots of goats and a hiking trail right out from the farm into the mountains. Thank you and hope you can help. Connie Isdahl King
Love your pictures Isn't Sitka just beautiful? I love Mt. Edgecumbe, the volcano. You know I've lived in Juneau for almost 5 years and the land never ceases to amaze you. Some days, you forget its beauty until you walk out your door and a picture moment is awaiting you. Whether it's the Mendenhall Towers being coated in snow in Juneau, sunset at Auke Bay, or even just a raven attacking your trash and being so sneaky and deceptive because you know you packed it especially tight to outwit him. Alaska, Southeast Alaska especially, is a truly amazing place. Glad you got to see it! :)
Amazing place Hermanus is such a beautiful place to visit. Not only is it known for its whales but also its amazing hotels. For people looking to purchase a holiday home, there are so many great properties in Hermanus.

Travels that I recommend? It all depends on your interests. If you pick a trip that involves your favorite things to do, you can't go wrong.
Happy Travels,

smooth sailing I hope the seas get calmer for you and the sun comes out. We plan on the same itinerary next year, on the Navigator. I read your posts eagerly! Jim
wonderful memories It was nice reading about that part of the world again. I loved SE Alaska but I do remember it raining cats and dogs every time I set off for a walk!
Looking forward to more adventures from you..
The travel bug is like an itch you can't quite scratch. We call it itchy feet. St. Augustine of Hippo, put it more eloquently, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page."
Come join us as we read the pages in our travel book and scratch our itchy feet!
I blog about baby boomer travel too. You can read more at: myitchytravelfeet
