TeamTurner, I remember your blog posts about Sabi Sands. Enjoyed reading them. Yes, Alan brought his telephoto lens. He's shooting in RAW format so I'll be adding his photos after we return home and he's had time to process them.
Enjoy It was about this time last year that we were in Sabi Sands. A wonderful place!! It looks like you had as much fun as we did!! I hope Alan brought his telephoto lens. :) Enjoyed the pics, TeamTurner
back in the late 1800's We just got home from the Baer House Inn in Vickburg, MS and had a wonderfully time. Our stay at the Baer House was wonderful and the hospitality was great. Thanks Doug (Breakfast was awesome)!!! We did not get to do everything we wanted, but we will go back at another time. We ate well while in Vicksburg. We ate at Borello's downtown on Washington St. for lunch which was really nice. Anchuca for dinner which was awesome. Anchuca was a smaller place, but had a great atmosphere, great service, and the food was out of this world. We also ate at Beechwood (does not look the best from the outside, but the food and service were very good). I have never stayed so full for so long. The food was just all that good. There are so many things to do. If you like history, touring old homes, and shopping, you will enjoy your stay in Vicksburg. And I do recommend that you give Doug a call at the Baer House Inn.

safe journey Bon voyage. The past photos you and Alan shot wonderfully capture the essence of the place. And your words bring the visit to life. Waiting to be immersed in Africa.
Bali versus Bali Hai Bali is one of my favorite places on earth. I have a time share in Tubang. But I am writing about the disparity between the romanticized image of Bali and the "real Bali". These pictures are great. It is nice to see people enjoying the wonders of Bali.

Thanks This brought back many wonderful memories for me. In 1969 I did this drive with my parents in our VW bus! I can still remember the overhangs that forced us to the edge of the narrow road with harrowing drops right next to us. I also remember the remains of mining settlements and marvel that they are still there 40 years later. Thanks for sharing - I would love to know how you did on Engineer Pass- we did that several different summers. Thanks!
marmaris ’Life is short and the world is wide’ so said Mike, and this sums up what most of us do - travel because life is short, and the world is wide! Some make this as organised and as comfortable as possible, others go with the flow. Who has more...
Hi Dex,
We intended to visit the PG when we were in Bora Bora but never made it. I've heard many great comments about the Paul Gauguin and hope to sail on her one day. Thanks for reading my blog and commenting.
Thanks anonymous,
Actually, I'm way behind on the blog. Two more entires to finish this trip, then I'll be working on two entries left from our Norway cruise. Also need to add Kauai, Santa Fe and Solvang from 2007 plus Vicksburg, MS from 2008. I think I have my work cut out for me. Thanks for the complement, it keeps me writing!
Yeah...you're writing again! Love all those Christmas trees and you two look good too. I've been wondering if there would be another blog. I love the way you write. Keep it up.
Hello Hello Donna. I am a crew of M/S Paul Gauguin. Were you able to visit PM/S Paul Gauguin too? I believe everytime the sister ships met in Bora Bora, guests are allowed to visit with the other ship.
The travel bug is like an itch you can't quite scratch. We call it itchy feet. St. Augustine of Hippo, put it more eloquently, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page."
Come join us as we read the pages in our travel book and scratch our itchy feet!
I blog about baby boomer travel too. You can read more at: myitchytravelfeet
