The Angel you are! Shine baby Shine! Let the Amy spirit resonate into the souls of those who are so lucky to enjoy your smile and laugh. Infect them with your love, spirit and laughter as you have done to all of us. Love you and am thinking of you doll!!! Pk
for my next trick... hey lady, smacking lips with a giraffe? why, i never! (but i can't wait to see the picures!!!!) oh, and i hope to hear more about the baby elephants sometime. it is butt cold here in madison (20s at night, freezing to 40s during the day). some snow! Brrrrrrrrr. and at the same time there are leaves a-plenty still falling. and as is also seasonally appropriate, there's a lot of good music coming thru town too. (i keep running into jordy at all of the best shows.)

take care and contiued safe travels, superstar. love, susanne
Aim, it's fantastic to hear more from your adventure. You're going to need a hankie the size of a bedspread when the tears finally do come! Hard enough to read, unimaginable when i try and picture you amidst it all. (except for the karioke in church) :) xo, sus.
Thank you so much.... for including us in your writings. What an amazing journey. Thank you so much for sharing of your time and efforts. I am sure just your sweet smile helps those you come in contact with. Be safe....
AMY! I am soooo excited and sad and moved to read about your experiences. Whew girl, i can't wait to see you when you return and see all the pictures and hear MORE stories. I love you very very much. ox Zelda
WOW, What a trip so far! HI Amy,
Just wanted to say HI and let you know you're in our prayers. We can't wait to hear more about your trip and see all the pictures. Everytime Marcy and I read your blogs, we are saddened that we are not there yet look forward to getting there even more!
A far cry from Humble Pie Whew! You are well. I was getting quite worried when I hadn't heard from you. You are a true humanitarian and I'm soooo proud of you. :)
SO much.... Amy Jo, I'm so proud of you. To see what you are seeing and being able to relate it to all of us back home. It's very powerful and important work you're doing. Just witnessing what is happening there is beautiful work. Thank you for writing to us. Keep safe, kid. Love, Jordy
So proud #2 Forgot to tell you that was me, Karyn. Remember, from the Soap Opera? I'm Karyn Carr now though, not Barnes anymore. Gosh I miss those soy chai latte's on chilly winter days!
So proud of you Oh Amy. It has been so long since I've seen/ talked to/ or even heard about what you've been up to. I have to say I am so incredibly proud of what you are doing. I wish I could be there along side you. Stay safe and stay positive. Can I send you some handiwipes? But then I guess where would they end up after you used them?
Go get em My courageous big sister! You never seize to amaze me. I'm super excited to hear all about everything. I will be thinking of you of course and will be awaiting your SAFE return! Hope you get to take lots of cool pics! Be safe and know your lil sista loves you very much!
towelette, m'am? hiya amy- ongratulations on arriving. glad to hear you are safe and sound. this is a wonderful vehicle for communicating, i am so glad you found it. i imagine the details of designing the garbage disposal project to be overwhelming, as well as the total overload of your senses (all of them!) - try to be in the moment, three cheers for being able to enjoy chai!, and remember to breathe although perhaps with the aid of some yummy essential oil or avocado :) sending you (and all who are there helping make your trip possible and safe) light, love, peace, joy and hugs! xo, sus.
You did it! Hi my Amy Jo. You did it, you are in Africa. Your journal comments were so interesting to read. I am so proud of you. I am thanking God for getting you there safely. Praise the Lord.
I was just telling Dave tonight that it is weird to realize that you were "flying through the air" many mile away and are now in AFRICA!
It is hard to imagine such poverty as you describe, worse than our own here. It is sad to think anyone should suffer. I wish all could have at least the necessities of life. I know you will come away from there with a wisdom and a compassion many will never know. That is a good thing.
I pray right now Amy, that this will be everything that you want it to be and much will be accomplished. You are a brave soul!
This is very exciting and I will look forward to your next entry.
Sending my love to you all the way from Shadyside Ohio.
Take Care my beautiful daughter.
Mom
P.S. wear those boots! :)
You are amazing! Amy, it sounds like you are in great hands and all is going to be fine. You are amazing to be doing this work and to be sharing your journey with your friends and relatives. It sounds like a strange dream - such a mixture of incredibly beautiful (like the people and the music) and incredibly dreadful (like the garbage and sewage). Be well and be careful. You are in my thoughts. (And all at ALG send their warm wishes and greetings.)
Sounds like you are having fun with the children! This is amazing. You made it. make it worth your while and enjoy yourself as much as you can. You are a special being! God bless you, Amy!
Best Wishes To My Love Dove Hi MY Amy Jo,
Just thinking about you this morning, the day before your trip. I pray your trip will be everything you are hoping for. I do admire your efforts and love for the people in Africa. I just know you will touch lives in a positive way.
I will keep you in my prayers and look forward to any messages at this site. This is a cool idea to communicate. You thought of everything. :)
I love you sweet daughter. Have a wonderful journey and I will talk to you soon.
I Love you,
MOM
it's just the beginning My sweet sister. What can I say? I am so happy for you. I can't believe this will be the only way I can see how you are. Please promise you will do your best to contact/update. I know it may be impossible at times...I understand and FEAR that very much. I will look forward to every chance as your journey unfolds, and when you get back to listen with the eyes and ears of a child as you teach us all. You are my best friend forever and ever- always across the miles and oceans. I love you.
I have wanted to go to Africa since I was 14 and now it is finally happening. I will be doing HIV education and outreach in Kibera as well as other educational projects throughout Kenya; including Kissi.... full info
