Visa Information So... there is no Vietnamese embassy or consulate in Hong Kong. There is one in Singapore. To obtain one in Singapore, you supposedly have to go through a travel agent there. The website does not specify how many days it's going to take. http://www.vinatradesingapore.org/About_Vietnam.htm
As far as an embassy in Australia, it's in Canberra, where ever that is. Website is... http://www.vietnamembassy.org.au/
Supposedly, the Visa process takes five days there... but that's normal, it's unspecified if they have an expedited process.
Good luck. I've gotten all my documents in order and ready to go. Passport and Visa. Suprised? :)
Marine Life Brutality? Did Peter see them beat the fish with little billy clubs before they hack them to pieces? Those butchers would give LAPD a run for their money in the field of professional beatings with blunt objects.
Peter, ask Dinh about how our grandpa used to "prepare" the live turtles we raised... then you won't feel so bad about the fish and their little hearts.
Packing light Good luck with everything guys! And packing under 20 lbs? That IS pretty ambitious. Shoulda have consulted me on packing, but then again I would have prepared you for hurricanes, earthquakes, and ice ages.
Fly, ride, drive, walk, run, hike, swim safe! I look forward to more blog entries.
Only 3 pair of shoes?!! That is unheard of... I know, this is coming from a person who took 6 pair of shoes to a 2 week vacation in Australia and bought 2 more pair of shoes in Melbourne. But I'm sure you will be just fine, Dinh. Obviously, I am sooooo jealous as I am sitting at my desk wondering "what the hell am I doing here today?"
Well, have a safe and fun trip guys! Can't wait to see your pictures.

"I'm going to take a holiday for as long as I need."
"Just to play?"
"No! I want to find out why I'm working. The answer can't just be to pay bills or to pile up more money...I can't find out sitting behind some desk in an office. So, as soon as I get enough money together, I'm going to knock off for a while. Come back and work when I know what I'm working for. Does that make sense?"
