Thanks for sharing ~ Enjoyed reading about your journey through Viet Nam and especially the projects Marcia is working on and how important the work is. Sounds like there is real progress happening and at the same time, So much more that could be improved upon. My heart goes out to you and Eric for taking the time in your travels to stop, and make a difference.
PS I am so onboard with the "Adopt a Pot"!
Willing to help clarify about Islam Hello,
I was reading your blog and it was nice.
My attention was caught on your experience to learn Islam from a person from the street. Bad mistake. So feel free to email me if you wish to learn more about Islam.
Take care.
Teaching in Vietnam Dear Mr. Eric and Mrs. Amber,
My name is Vincent Nguyen. I am currently working as a high school math teacher and am living in the United States. I have been teaching for over 6 years and my goal is to work in Vietnam but don't know how to apply or who to connect to. Please let me know how to get started. I appreciated.
Sincerely yours,
Vincent Nguyen
Tirtagangga If you're still in Ubud, try to take a day or two in Tirta Gangga. Last time there I stayed at a cool place called Good Karma.
Also, the Gili Islands (esp. Gili Air) are very cool and no hard to get to from Ubud or even Kuta.
Thanks for going, I am going again soon Great post and story..I have been helping them out expand cafe..great people there.

Hi: Actually saving this journal as a reference. I have never been to Tuscany and hope to go in the near future. Wanted to make sure I had the names of those restaurants. Sorry you didn't enjoy your Yantze River Cruise. I will have to remember to ask you about it when I see you guys. Cheryll
When will you be home? I will be in Chicago week of April 12 and was wondering whether you are ever coming back? Of course, I cannot blame you if you do not. You have made world travel interesting for all of us.
Your journal was great. Brought back so many memories of my trips to Brazil and the wonderful people and good food. The Brazilians love to party!!!! Looking forward to the journal about Montevideo as I have always wanted to go there. Saw your flight was ontime yesterday and you were in your assigned seats. Cheryll
i agree with Ellie. dont believe the man. if you want to know the truth about islam you should ask the ustaz (more religious man like a priest ) instead of asking some random muslim man on the street. i am happy to know that you are interested to understand Islam.
Glad to hear from you guys....it has been awhile. I was almost going to email and see if you guys were ok. Wow, the exploding stove!!!! Got you didn't have to pay. The jail room was too funny. I love drinking the the brazilian drink. Cheryll working with LInda showing her the pics.

Used to be a LQD's member, i'm very appreciate your hard word for our school as well as my low-developing hometown. Hope to attend one of your presentation when you're back to Dongha. Good luck to you and have a meaningful journey!
Going through the entry several times to find if my name existed there, all I could find is "One of the grade 12 Chemistry students" =.=! Anyway, hope to see the rules book soon!
There are many facets to Macau as in the title.... but it takes time to explore.
what you've seen, is indeed the touristy side.
btw, the locals don't eat around the touristy area, too expensive, and not as good.
there is a local coffee chain the serves excellent coffee, especially the blue mountain. Forgot the English name of the chain.... the Chinese translation, ironically, means San Francisco :)
thank you hi, i am a student of English class in Le Quy don high school. Thank you for your volunteer teaching us. Hope you have a good time in Viet Nam
After having a very early mid life crisis, one might say a quarter life crisis, I decided to take a one year sabattical from my big law firm job to travel the world, to eat great food, to experience different cultures, to relax and live.
