Coffee in S. America is a bit disappointing I agree about the coffee thing...except in Peru, everyone drinks instant coffee!! Columbia, where coffee beans flow in rivers of milk and honey, is right across the border, but people prefer the covenience of stirring coffee powder into their hot water.
safety sake Yo Ween, did you take your knife, your mace, your 44 magnum handgun as you traveled around the city by yourself!!! Be safe down there, I know I must sound like a "Dad" but that's my job. Enjoy yourself but go with a friend. Oh wait I got it..... no friends err, boy friends yet, is that it? I guess Char will have to fly down and go tour the city with you. Enjoy that bus ride, it's sure beats walkin'
Yikes! Life with starbucks 20 minutes away?? Not sure how I would deal with that. That would definitely cause Mom to come home early....or build her own starbucks. The park sounds fun...watch out for the monkeys - I know they like to fling poop on passer byers. I'm glad the museum was fun but the 3 hour bus ride sounds horrendous. Did you sleep the whole time?
Beautiful Wow...I love that place. I remember when we went there with the youth group several years ago. We stayed in a hotel near the beach and some guy tried to break in our window one night. Pretty weird. But it still is a gorgeous place to visit! Looks like you had fun!
Harry.... Hogwart Express.....wow....somebodies' a certified Harry Potter fan! Pink is my favorite color....I might have some problems over there. Good to know though.
Hollllaaaa! Head - glad to see your pics finally! Sounds like you are adjusting nicely and you have a great family to stay with. Let's be honest how many churros have you eaten....come on....you can tell me. Well, nothing new here.....Cali was fun but we missed you a lot. We toasted to you quite often on the trip. Okay - love you - Jose sends his love too!

Favelas Remember me telling you about Izuara and the living conditions and how happy she was because she had found Jesus and she said she had everything now! Standing in her favela and seeing her joy was a moment I will never forget for the rest of my life.
Brazil do's and don'ts Glad you made it safely, here are a few rules for your trip.
No Boys..... No Bikini's, No Bars, and no Tats or tramp stamps,
No, not even a brazilian flag to remember your experiences.
buy a decal instead, they're cheaper and I won't have to cut you outta the will for getting it.
Yo Dad,
Ween, you look great! I am so happy you're staying with a nice family.
Interesting that Char piucked up on that boyfriend comment so quickly...
So how much were the chiclets?

Scrabble? Char, if that is Brazilian scrabble, Ange had better hope for a lot of O's I's N's and E's her limited vocab will make for a long boring game.
Perhaps she can play against Petrusco.... he can't spell either.

Amazing!! The family looks amazing and extremely nice and fun. You seem to be having an incredible life experience there!!! I am kind of jealous. Why would you want to even come to my pool party???? On a side note: what exactly do you do at work?? Write blogs all day??? I suppose that could be a fantastic job. :) Enjoy

Perhaps Jose can bring his soccer team there next summer. Do AJ and Barbara need something like that?
