Happy Christmas from Blighty!
Merry Christmakkah to you and I am so enjoying following along on your journey. I am old so it just dawned on me that I could send a response. We are all in London for Christmas this year (Nick and Cole flew in on the 16th) and we have had boatloads of snow so our trip to Germany for the Christmas markets was cancelled. We did however build a snowman, go for a very cool snowy walk, have a Sunday roast at our local (pub) and many other great fun family events. Our peaceful Christmas day of just wandering around in pj's and sipping champagne while playing games and hanging out was a first and we loved every minute of it. I am so glad you are having such a great time and I am living vicariously through you. What a great way to start your married life and what memories it will give you forever. We may stay in London one more year so maybe next year you two wanderers can make your way here to see us and get a little European continent into your photo album. Take care, be safe and we love you. Crista and all the boys.

Nice to hear from you again. You guys are lucky to be seeing so many places and people at an unrushed pace. I'm sure you are both learning a lot about how Americans are percieved in Asia. Thanks for the interesting reports. Take care.

OMG, your writing is amazing! You must be a great writer? I am sure I am reading all your blogs to learn your writing skill. Next time when you go back to Vietnam, try Phong Nha and Hoi An in the central part, and Sapa and Ha Giang in the north. You will find it not same same, but completely different, but also wonderful too.

Beautiful pictures! So glad that you are keeping up with the blogging. You'll love to have these entries to look back on later. I love the part about Laura spending the whole cab ride using the Thai phrasebook to communicate with the driver! It's what makes Laura so special :) Miss you guys and wish wish wish we were along for the adventure too....

One of the things I learned while at the U. studying Asian history, was that Ho Chi Minh patterned the first constitution for North Vietnam after that of the U.S. I believe he wanted a democracy and he expected our help in ousting the French. Unfortunately, it didn't work that way and we had the Vietnam War. Stevie

Like National Geographic
Wow! Another great installment in the A&L adventure, very well written! Vietnam sounds really interesting and complicated. The flow of life in Asia is really different than other places. Your comment about pedestrians like rocks in the river of trafficwas great! The pic of the banana vendor reminded me of Phillipines- we ate these little ones every day. Look like all YOU guys do is eat. Love, Mark

The Killing Fields
Have you ever seen the Movie "The Killing Fields?" It is one I have watched so very many times. Part of it portrays one B52's bomb load dropped off target, (I was a B52 Crew Member during that time.) The rest of the movie depicted the life of one person who experienced the Kmer Rouge and lived to tell about it. He was even given an Oscar for his role in the movie. Later he was killed by a drive-by shooting in his L.A. home. Love living your honeymoon thru your commentary guys.

Your Adventure
The two of your amaze us....what an adventure! When each of my three sons graduated from high school I took each one on a two week trip through Europe. No reservations, etc. We just "went and looked" until we were tired. That was a "cake walk" compared to your travels. I commend your decision to go and pray for your safety and well being. A once in a life time experience. Love, UT
