Social Programming Based on the "successes" of most socio-economic programs that have been attempted in the USA, I can hardly imagine that programs run in other countries have left the locals with a sense of being used.
Perhaps, we could offer high % loans to build low income housing tenaments like in Chicago and NY
Amanda in Grenada, scandalous... I love reading about your conversations and observations- and only after one day!!! You're going to have such an amazing time. I miss you already, and can't wait to hear about your next adventure :)
I am a 3rd year student studying international economic development at Georgetown University. I decided to take a semester off so that I could give 7 months of pure service. I will be working with La Familia Fabretto (www.fabretto.org) that helps over 4000 children in 5 sites in Nicaragua obtain higher quality education. I'll be teaching English, acting as a volunteer coordinator, and conducting thesis research. I hope to keep a diary of my time in Nicaragua by updating this journal at least once every two weeks.... full info
