Today we hiked up 香山 (Xiang Shan) or Fragrant Hill, a mountain that is just about an hour from Beijing by public transportation. It's in the 北京西山 (Beijing Xishan) which are kind of the foothills of 太行山 (Taihang Shan), the Taihang Mountains. 爬 (pa) means "climb" and it looks like a cute little thing going up a mountain. 山 (shan) means "mountain" and looks like something with 3 peaks.

As we climbed higher and higher, we could see more and more of the city.

They had stuff written on them. They were bright and beautiful.

The whole walking experience was so developed. A beautifully maintained stone path, stairs everywhere, shops and restrooms all the way up. There were also tons of people.
