Good times in Bangkok

After an emotional goodbye I was up, up, up and away. Good flight but little sleep. Arrived in Bangkok at 3pm local time. It was raining and very humid. I had been told that the taxi should cost around 500 baht but our first quote was 1300 bath so we joined the public taxi queue and got a taxi for 500 baht through the city to our hotel. We are staying in the Royal Orchid hotel which is part of the Sheraton group. Even though we were very tired we went to a traditional Thai restaurant for a very hot green curry.

Day 1- Sight seeing around Bangkok. Grand places, several temples and Tuk Tuk ride. Spent the night in Patong!!!! Interesting.

Day 2- Took advantage of weather and had a pool day before checking out to catch the night train to Chaing Mai.
