Going Literary in Shanghai

This past weekend, I attended the Shanghai International Literary Festival (SILF) at the Glamour Bar on the Bund. The children at the orphanage where I go on Monday mornings continue to be a weekly source of happiness and sunshine. I can't remember or pronounce their names, but every one of them is very dear to me.

up for adoption?

This remains a mystery, as I've heard the process is very slow and full of red-tape. A French colleague of mine, whose authorization to adopt was approved by the authorities in Beijing a year ago, is still waiting; and this packed-to-capacity orphanage is just a few minutes' away from where she lives!

GREAT photos as usual -- and as usual I am SO impressed by all you do! (makes me feel like I should be doing more here in Paris!) -- teaching, socializing, exploring, volunteering.... having an adventure choosing what to wear to the wedding! La vie est bonne! In admiration, Elaine.
