Talked to an "energy dance teacher" from Germany who left his job as a primary school teacher. Discussed a retreat in Rishikesh called the "City of Light". An Israeli woman who had been living in Rishikesh for a year mentioned it to me. It is a hybrid of meditation, yoga and energy dancing it is run by a UK and Austria couple - not for me.

Spent the day on the beach topping up my tan and listening to David Bowie, Why and the new Arcade Fire album. Really into Bowie, especially his work with Brian Eno.

Walked on the beach and admired the stones, amazing textures and colours.

Spent the evening listening too an old German guy, Yogi and the young Spanish man singing and playing the guitar. Yogi had a style similar to Arthur Lee of Love although he didn’t know any songs - Yogi and his wife are ex-hippies they smoked a lot of hashish.

Owner of Spring View hotel set off a firework because today was my last day in Tattapani.
